Ironically, this is true. It seems Kirk might have been very valuable as a martyr, especially internationally. (It's funny, since one of the early conspiracy theories was he was killed by other GOP forces worried about his potential 2028/2032 run who saw how useful a martyr he would be.)

Alcaraz just looked better overall in the final. Which, to be fair, he usually does against Sinner. Head-to-head, he's been the better player, even if not always ranked such overall.
