Why do Canadian women dress so poorly?

I believe I'm not alone in stating that I think that Canadian women dress poorly..and by poorly I mean wearing clothes that are not flattering. This isn't the case for all countries..In South America, you can get serious neck pain, from turning around and checking out the ladies..The same goes for countries elsewhere. In fact, when I'm in Downtown Toronto, its usually the women who were born elsewhere that are dressed well.

I imagine that in cities like Oshawa, it must be difficult to find a pair of ladies sweatpants in a retail store, since there are so many women wearing them. On the U of T campus, I find that the young ladies wear sweatpants and sandals to class. WTF? At York, with a larger amount of ladies from other countries, the girls tend to dress better before going to class(sundresses, ect.)

There are so many attractive women here..I don't understand why they have to dress so shabilly, and not accentuate their body parts...a real travesty.!? Any thoughts?

THANK YOU!! Awesome post. Life is way too casual here. It's great to be in a lowbrow society, don't get me wrong, it very convenient. But this is one area of North American life that I hate - the nonchalance regarding style and clothing. I have SO MANY memories of getting off the plane at Pearson or in Calgary, after a trip to Europe where the ladies dressed to the nines just to do their laundry, and being so disappointed by the Canadian girls and women swathed in sweat clothes. Ugh. Have some pride, have some class, dress up a bit. You don't have to spend an hour doing hair and makeup just to get groceries, but change out of your pajamas for crying out loud. I do it, you can too.

Most Women (and Men) don't have taste. They generally just follow what's fashionable in the media/streets/mags, instead of developing their own style/vision/identity.

All the EE ladies that I have talked to say the same thing. They think NA women dress like bums and I would agree for the most part.

I prefer women dressing casually and looking comfortable, so long as they're clean. It can be done with style and without devotion to labels and brands.

Canadian women not only dress poorly but are fatter than EE and latinas. That's what you get when you give them an equal opportunity to earn money. It also makes it much more difficult to fuck them in terms of time and effort that must be spent on dating.

La la land
Let' slook at it from their point of view.

IF they are hot looking, body [tit and ass] and face, why do they need to look well dressed when they are hot?

In Europe and South America, men whistle at woman constantly and leer at them, whislt at them like pets, and man says things that are just so stupid, the worst pick up lines you can think. I mean the men treat the woman lower than sex objects no class and so on. Of course there are some woman that are like that, this been the minority now.

Now I seen some Europeans girls walking into SC dress like bums, mainly with sweatpants. I was like no way I am getting a dance from them inside and they looked great once inside.

Now here is the big issue "Sexual Harrasment", most men I meet don't seem to know or care where the line is drawn with their comments. Is it ignorance or arrogance?

I think a lot of girls are not dressing up because of the work involved, avoid leering, and shallow comments from Numnuts and avoid "rape" - " "she was dressed like a hooker" comments.

Also I have notice that women don't care to impress anyone more. Only at work if it deals with promotoon and more money.

I have to agree with "shummer" most just follow the media.

When I started to see girls wearing flip flons or flip flops 3-4 years ago I knew something was up, now I see more woman wearing flip flops and Baldaci Mary Jane
By Timberland and Sulima Ballerina Slippers. So thin that I think it's made from paper.

Canadian fashion is weird it goes from one extreme to another extreme.

Look at swim wear, from speedo to swim trunks that read the ankles almost, and this is for guys.

it should be also noted that it is not women's fault that Canadian men have such a poor taste that they equal high heels to high class

We should never have given them the right to vote. Now they think they have another purpose in life then being eye-candy and fuck-dolls.

:sarcasm:

What about us guys? Unless we are gay, do we really dress any better? Lets look at ourselves in the mirror.

No mention of labels or brands was made. Its not about labels, its about sweat pants versus wool pants, yoga pants versus nice skirts, etc.

if you have ever been to EE, you must have noticed that a lot of men wear sweat/track pants there, and a lot of men are fat; and women are dressed up and are slim.

it's quite simple: whoever has no problem finding a sex partner, can afford to dress like shit and be fat. In EE it's the men, here in Canada it's the women.

the hobby needs more capitalism
I don't know why this topic was created. It's not going to change en masse. Either become a man of means (well established, good career, learn game, etc) where you make such demands to your girlfriend or work towards expatriating to South America, Asia, Eastern Europe, etc.

Getting upset with things beyond your control will leave you angry.

I never said labels or brands were mentioned.
BTW yoga pants, nice skirts and wool pants weren't mentioned either but I'm not going to make an issue of it.

I like attractive women who wear yoga pants, they show off the body much better than a skirt does. Hope that doesn't get your knickers in a knot.

it depends on where you are

for university campuses, it's pretty much the same as it has been since the later 60s; only in the 50s did you have suit-and-tie for guys, skirts for ladies (i.e. A Beautiful Mind)

the workplace has changed though ... now it seems appropriate for a lady to wear skirt with flip-flops! shorts are still taboo though, at least there's still some modicum of decorum ... at best, they wear that frickin' Hillary Clinton pantsuit, which sucks too
