Yet once again, I can't MAKE you be an informed citizen. You need to read the papers and inform yourself on your own. Even the Toronto Sun carried the story and they aren't even real news. The core of Toronto is what makes it attempt to be a world class city. All the GTA isn't going to matter to tourists and or world leaders when they come here. Make the core noteworthy and the rest of the world will notice. No one would ever come to Toronto to travel to Scarboro but their tourist dollars would help the GTA develop. Rob Ford will eliminate any chance Toronto has of joining the 21st century, and we are already 10 yrs behind. Listen to yourselves - you guys sound like Jethro Clampett "dum dee dum, I guess I don't like it when bicycles are on the road because they get in my way of finding a parking space, and he says he will lower taxes, even though I don't know which ones, and since I have seen his name in the paper, I guess he is the one to vote for etc" He will kill the bike lanes, has no green development and spend MILLIONS to support a subway system that will never be built but I can guarentee that Rob Ford buddies have construction companies that will win bids that will pay them more money than is possible to get the contract, only to have the plug pulled years down the road as "unfeasible". My Toronto vision is to make it a world class city, and to do that we need someone who has a proper vision and who wouldn't cut off the city's nose to spite its face. Plus he fucked over his own wife. What does that say about his character???
Try travelling around the world and witness our competition to see how other cities have got it right, not wrong. My god, even the transvestite that ran against Mel would be a better choice than Rob Ford, because at least they understand how the world changes andhow we need to reflect and cater to those changes.
