Wait for Fuji to give his recommendation, he knows all the classy places because he's classy.

Lobster is lobster if it is just boiled. Since I have had shrimps with lobster sauce or Cantonese fried lobster I can not eat the plain boiled lobsters anymore. If you want her to ooo and awww before you get her to the bedroom them find a good Chinese restaurant that serves these dishes, you are in for an experience you will not forget. It is a lot dryer than the dripping boiled lobster too.

BTW - I was watching one of the chef cook off contest on the cooking channel and the best dish went to the chef that made fried Cantonese lobster.

After the meal I'll take her to a tanning salon and have her use a tingle
tanning lotion. She will come out looking like a lobster before we spend
the night.

go authentic. Fly to Bar Harbour then take a 2o minute drive to Trenton, Maine. Seaside lobster fishermans home with picnic tables on his front lawn. Daily catch, your choice of the best lobster you will ever eat...sit and chat with the locals. bring your own beverages of choice. memory to last a lifetime, or until next years return trip

The good Chinese Lobster places are not noted their for decor and ambiance, so unless she's just into the food and at a cheap price, I wouldn't take her to such a place if I wanted to impress her.

Go to places like La Castile or The Octagon (bring at least $200).

There's a great steak house called The House of Chan which has excellent steaks and king crab but they also have lobster.

I would agree with you, but if it is a good lobster you want, nothing beats Cantonese Ginger fried lobsters. The price is ptetty good too, most places are about $25 a plate.

Starfish - if not, then Rodney's.
Bar none, THE best lobster in town - consistently. Only my preference is in reverse.

Have been going to Rodney's since he first opened the old place on Adelaide. Wouldn't call it a "classy" place, more of a fun, laid back crowd as a true seafood house should be. Starfish is owned by Rodney's protege of many years, Patrick McMurray. Make sure to start with the oysters, if you're into them. And don't forget your Amex card. I never seem to get out of either place for less than $250-$300 for two.

Been to House of Chan many times, good lobster but not as consistently good if they're having an off night. I stick with their steaks now.

Haven't been there in a few years but the Octogan in Thornhill is a fine dining restaurant of Steak and Seafood. Reservations are usually required.

Yea and we all know how good deep fried food is for us! A lot of Cantonese cuisine seems to be deep fried and while tasty(excess fat always adds flavor) i try to avoid fried foods as much as possible. I prefer baked, broiled, grilled or steamed foods.

Ceiling Cat - you MUST to to O Mei at Highway 7 and Valleymede. They do giant lobsters. One beast is cooked 5 different ways. A culinary delight.

I find lobster and "classy" to be counter-intuitive. A classy place charges you an arm and a leg, and will only serve you the tail. Lobster is something to eat with your hands and get messy with. I'd rather go to the Lobster Trap or Lobster Royale and get smelly.

Take her to Fuji's place. She won't get Lobster but she sure as hell will get crabs.
