My question of the day. They have a man on first and third. Lind on first. two out. Izturis hits a fly ball double to right and fielder bobbles a bit. Why was Lind held at third? He isnt fast, but if he is off with crack of bat, he should have a shot at scoring......even if he gets thrown out there, at least he tried. Instead he is left on base by Blanco. And we lose by one again.
The coaches just aren't major league...except maybe for Hale
You are right... the coaches aren't Major League.

Also, the Jays are what they are = *** poorly constructed ***.

Bautista/Enca/Ariciaba have 22 HR and only 42 RBI...
Ratio should more like 3:1...
But no BB, too many Ks, few SBs, no extra bases...
It doesn't matter if you lose by one run...
A loss is a loss is a loss is a loss.

I wonder when Gibbons will get fired
Won't be until after the season ends, if then. A lot of people seem to think Gibbons is too laid back and/or should be more vocal. Not so sure. Remember what happened to the Marlins last year. A stacked lineup and a very vocal manager. Where is he now?
You never see Gibbons conversing with his coaches in the dugout...always leaning against the railing by himself. I remember Joe Torre was always sitting beside Don Zimmer and strategizing the game moves.

LOL okay, then tell us why he should stay Mr. Baseball expert.

And keep in mind I wasnt impressed with his managerial abilities even before he got the job

I wasn't trying to be rude by the way and by no means am I an expert, but if you think the Jays are 9-17 because Gibbons your sadly mistaken. My guess would be because they have pretty much the worst ERA as well batting average in league right now. Not to mention, you don't pull the carpet out from somebody 25 games into a 162 games season.

Now, I am interested in hearing why you think he should be fired or what makes him a bad manager.

I think its fair to say that the manager does have an impact on the team beyond the obvious play calling, fielder positioning, pulling the pitcher, etc. Look at Bosox last year. They had a stacked lineup but several stars were traded mid season due to poor team results, but they had a horrible manager. This year they have Farrell managing and they're leading their division and are getting great pitching. Would they be in first place if Valentine were still managing this year? Very doubtful. Personally, I don't think Gibbons is a great manager, but he isn't fully responsible for the poor results. They simply can't hit with runners in scoring position. Why? What can the manager do to correct this problem? Maybe they can stop swinging for the fences every at bat, and settle for singles and doubles. Need to do something quick, but what?

Little chance of that. Phil doesn't do that kind of thing much.

Shoot, I fear that the Jays will find a way to lose this game too. 6 runs just ain't enough. We need more runs.
Ok, just scored 2 more runs. The Jays got my email. This is a must win game for the Jays. Baseball, like singles bars, is 70% confidence and losing this game will mean the Jays lose what little confidence they have.

A win is a win but defense was shaky. Another error on a routine play. They look like a bunch of keystone cops out on the field.

Finally some winning baseball! There is still alot of holes on this team. Our d has been atrocious since the start of the season. AA seriously needs to get us a 2B that can play 2B. Not sure how much longer I can stand seeing Izturis or bonafacio play 2B. Kawasaki was hot when he got called up. The experiment is over, we need a better backup SS for Reyes.
