He's very lucky that she wasn't one of the many Americans who's packing and not afraid to shoot in order to defend themselves or their loved ones.

If they catch him, he'll eventually get his just desserts (unless they shoot him for resisting arrest, etc.).

Equally disgusting is the TV station who showed the video in most of its entirety, which will be replayed several times. A still pic of the suspect is good enough IMO. And in showing, they've basically revealed the location of the victim's house.

I agree.... and let's hope that the Police are out there looking for blue eyed, blonde haired Caucasian men in this matter just so they can be certain that no one will accuse them of 'racially profiling' any minorities. Sincerely, Jon .

I wouldn't say the TV station's showing of the video is as disgusting as the assault itself. The victim must have allowed the station to show the video probably with the hope that someone recognizes this scumbag and turns him in.

A still pic of the guy's face is good enough. Frankly showing the attack and the commentary just gives the perp too much attention. I think it would be traumatizing to the victim, her friends and family to see this played over and over again on the news. I find the reporter's comment odd too: "this attack was so incredibly violent that perhaps you don't want to see it, but if you do though we have the video." If it is so incredibly violent, why is it being played at all on the 6 o'clock news?

The station would not show the video without the victim's consent.

I usually expect to hear more information in cases like these ie. drug deal gone bad/ former boyfriend etc.
It's very rare these are random.

New Jersey has the highest crime rate per capita in the states.

This kinda shit happens every day all over the world and the US soldiers are responsible for doing it as well.
The sensationalism of these kinds of stories proves that ppl react to emotion rather than reason or fact.

Ask this woman if she'd rather have a phone in her hand with 911 pre-dialed or a loaded gun ready to shoot....

Sooooo... you expect the police to only stop black males of approximately 5'11", 210 lbs. for questioning in this crime? Because over in the Trayvon Martin Trial thread, that's considered racial profiling.

The description of the suspects breaking into homes in that neighborhood were young black males wearing hoodies. According to many over there, George Zimmerman is apparently a racist for only calling the police about young black males wearing hoodies.

Except in this case, we have a video of him clearly committing the crime and have a pretty good idea of what he looks like. The police probably have an even clearer picture of what he looks like through video enhancement. So it doesn't make sense to question Chinese people for example. Racial profiling is a bit of nonsense IMO. The police should stop and question people that look similar to a suspect's description because in most cases that's all they have to go on. Nobody flashes their ID first when committing crimes (not the sane ones anyway.) In this particular case, they have a clear picture of how the suspect looks and isn't racial profiling IMO.

Profiling is fine for both cases however the person in this video is guilty of a crime and is sought after by police. Trayvon Martin, although a thug, was not guilty of any crime walking home from the store.

This unfortunate story is just another example, out of millions, that explain American's love of guns. There are only three main reasons for Americans' passion for packing heat:
-The fear of government
-The fear of some unforeseen cataclysmic breakdown of society where it's every man/woman/family for themselves
-The fear of crime - primarily Black street criminals

All legit and rational reasons, IMO.
