I'll be staying in TO end of July for one evening.
Staying close to Union Station, would like some recommendations on a cool / secluded restaurant to go to..Casual dress, great food, great drinks etc..

Any advice is appreciated.

Try Canoe. It is at the top of the TD tower. Great food, great view. There is a bar for just drinks if you prefer that. Make reservation though. Service and staff very down to earth and friendly. Price reasonable for location.

Summerlicious is going on until July 26. A whole lot of restaurants in Toronto have a fixed price menu $25 to $35 including appetizer, main course and dessert. The food quality will vary depending on where you go. I did Summerlicious one year at the Rosewater Supper Club, which was also quite good for the price IMO.

There are tons of restaurants in the area around The Royal York including "restaurant row": King Street between John and Peter Streets. About 10 to 15 minutes away from the Fairmont. Some faves of mine include Joe Mama's and Le Saint Tropez.

If you like steak, Bardi's is pretty secluded. Also Bymark can be.

E11even is close to union, so is Aria Ristorante if you're feeling Italian. Just don't go on a game day.

SOCO is also pretty new, right underneath the new delta at simcoe and bremner, widely diverse menu from bison tartare and oysters, to burgers and sea bass. Open from 6am to 2am if that makes a difference.

For sushi there is KI. I believe it is at Wellington and Bay (should be easy to look up). Has the atmosphere you are looking for with intimate booths.

There's got to be a lot of 1%ers here, suggesting Canoe among others.
Nothing wrong with suggesting Canoe but to call it "reasonable" is misleading. If that is reasonable what restaurant is considered unreasonable?

Looking at the menu I think it qualifies as an expensive restaurant. The gauge for me is when an appetizer soup is $16.

But I suppose you are paying a premium for the view.

It apparently is on the summerlicious menu if you don't want to break the bank this month ;). He also said reasonable FOR its location. Which it really is.

Ideally I'm looking for a place, great food, drinks and bonus would be nice curvy booths that give you some personal space to chat :)

Richmond Station (Yonge and Richmond) fits casual dress, great food and great drinks.

Pizza Libretto on Ossington is an old favourite for a good casual meal with high energy and decent drinks/wine.

Ki could be fun if you get a booth, but it's a massive restaurant.

You could also take a cab to Good Son, Spirit House or Weslodge, as all have a casual, high energy atmosphere, lots of people watching and great cocktails.

Best pub food in the city, House on Parliament. On Parliament just south of Carlton.

Best gastropub is the Tavern by Trevor on Spadina and Richmond. The best!

If thats not your thing then listen to Chloe. She knows the hot spots.
