Another advantage of restricted lanes with little traffic over on the left is that they can actually function as true passing lanes, and let the non-privileged traffic flow better than it does when all the lanes are fully occupied by clowns who imagine filling up all the available space is getting them somewhere faster.

Not that I'd encourage such scofflaw behaviour, but it'll be awhile before they install enough cameras to catch everyone.

Sounds good, but, if you have restricted lanes that means you have no where to go when the person in front of you and to your right refuses to go the speed limit (there doing 75km ) thus tying up traffic.
You can't pass, where to you go? What about the person who is 10 car lengths away from the car in front of him because ' hay I can't go anywhere because of the traffic so I might as well tie up traffic behind me" all the while the person right beside you in the right lane is not doing the speed limit, where to you go? That's the downside to implementing restricted lanes. IMHO

If there's a physical barrier you may have a point ( I did have trouble following ). But I was thinking of painted HOT lanes enforced by cameras. As I said, if that lane's free, you can likely use it as a true passing lane and be in and out at speed without a camera catching you.

If we'd all kept that left lane clear except when passing maybe traffic would flow better to this day; but the bozos and blockers took over the passing lane long ago, and turned them into just another parking lot.

Sixteen!! Wowsers Hen!! Is this you announcing your Mayoral run? Is your drinking up to a competitive? Or was that included that in the driving stuff?

How many cops and cruisers are our taxes supposed to pay for, so guys like you will at last just do what's right? Or at least not imagine you're doing anything to boast of?

You sir, are the most interesting man in the world.
Yes me and million others driving on HOV lanes ILLEGALLY are all the most interesting men in the world. Fell better now? Thank you very much for clapping. You're really bored and get nothing better to do right? Are you going to start a new thread on tailgating, speeding and illegal parking too? I do do all of them.

There's no evidence of all those others breaking the laws like you, so apparently we only skimped on the expensive personal policing you and a very few others require. Of course we've long known the former Mayor to be a flagrant scofflaw and criminal who needs more than his share. Then you came here to boast of being the same.

Most people keep the law because they know that outlawry destroys our society. And crowing about breaking laws just makes the offence worse. But some of us never matured past that bad-boy stage when you only behaved if you could be caught and punished, and thought that getting away with it was a thing to be proud of.

Your not-so-modest bragging of all your illegal and and just plain douche-baggy behaviour has all of us impressed. Do you rip the tags off of mattresses and ignore best-before dates as well?

If you are happy with yourself being in the 'scum-bucket' category of society, that is your prerogative. Go at it Champ!

Yeah... I've become very adept at spotting your kind in my day-to-day dealings. It's a great skill to have.
You have a lot of skills alright, like being obnoxious, vulgar, obtuse, insulting, but your right, you are very adept at spotting scum-buckets in your day-to-day dealings, it becomes a lot easier when you see your own reflection in the mirror.

1735 tickets between June 29 to July 27 (5:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m) 59.82 tickets per day? 3.3 tickets per hours? What are the total mileage of those stupid Pan Am HOV lanes? How many convictions? How hard to fight those tickets legally? Sound like I made the right decision.
So true what evident they have to have to convict you? Do they follow you and video-tape your moving car on HOV lane, time, date and location? Then pull you over? Video-tape you behind the steering wheel before they issue a ticket to you? Do they need to prove they didn't edit the tape to wrongfully accuse you for the offence?

Right decision only if you are a self important jackass who thinks that if you don't get caught you did nothing wrong.
