I don't understand why they can't just pin him down, slap the cuffs on and throw him in a car as quickly as possible.

I wish they'd bring back the 'beat stick'. You can recover from a broken arm or leg.

Any resistance seems to greatly increase the likelihood of death nowadays. Be tough all you want, but that is pretty sad.

Dr. King, Gandhi....These are great people who knew how to effect change.

Not the thugs who are looting and rioting. They are just using mob mentality to capitalise on political unrest.

To those who are apathetic towards the destruction of property. I wonder what your feelings would be if it was your house or business being burned to the ground because after all it's replaceable right?

I always thought "COP" was "Constable on Patrol". Origin in the U.K.

My advice to anyone interacting with a COP. BE RESPECTFUL! It's not rocket science. They're human too.
and if you are not respectful, you deserve to die?

In general, people had much more class and respect for themselves back then... In MLK's time, he was a much more risk than someone from today's time.

I do think the potential over-reacting to the arrest isn't helping... Look at the dude recently arrested in Texas for running a stop sign. His grandmother came out to save him... The guy was freaking out on the initial cop. He called for back-up just to diffuse the situation.

Better to be those thugs than a scumbag murder.

Now go imagine that's your father murdered in cold blood by a smirking cop.

Replaceable life, right? But you want to focus on material things.

No imagine it's you under that knee about to die? You'd rather die than have your house burnt down. And there's no house being burnt down, so don't even bring that into the equation.

Insurance can possibly replace that shit. You think it will replace Floyd's life?

PS: Funny how you talk about MLK when y'all put a bullet in him for getting too uppity. You guys sure put him in his place.

I hope basketcase now sees this bullshit. What kind of false equivalence is this? This is what is done to deflect from the matter at hand. This how you guys get us to pipe down and fall into line and let this shit get swept under the rug.

It's an age old tactic the oppressors use.

Don't bring that bullshit into this murder!

You want to being that shit up?? Explain these

You better go back and study the entire history of USA police force (SLAVE PATROLS) and black people. Start with the LAPD and how it was formed with Klansmen.

Here we have a clear cut case of fuckery and you guys are bringing shit that has nothing to do with what was done to Floyd for nearly 10 fucking minutes while his life slowly slipped away, and while that piece of shit smirked and enjoyed it. But you want to go on about: 'Oh but look how this negro over there in Timbucktu didn't comply.'

Another component I hope they look at, and seriously consider, is when the guy was pleading for his life, and the cop was telling him to "get up then" while keeping his knee firmly on his neck. He was taunting him right there. It appears he even shifts more weight onto Floyd's neck too.

That was some sadistic, torture bullshit.

I'm not defending the cops in the Floyd case whatsoever. True justice seems so clearly required. I am concerned with the over-reaction of offenders in recent trivial matters (i.e. traffic stops) potentially resulting in their death. The diffusion of tension is required. The rioting does not help. Ramping up people with guns does not help. The Texas man's grandmother clearly understood. The arresting cop understood.

How should the Police respond to looters? Unlike looting, a peaceful protest offers no further justification for violence.

Look. Nothing is helping. Peaceful protest doesn't help either. Peaceful protest is pointless and useless in the USA...especially for black people. People are frustrated! Does begging grace from your oppressor really work? Asking for a friend since it clearly didn't work for Mr Floyd.

Some of the people causing destruction probably don't really are about justice but just want to cause anarchy for shits and giggles, but there are genuinely hurt and frustrated people involved.

But tell me, when the USA goes abroad to invade other countries, and impose their will on them, are they doing that peacefully? The brown lives over there are merely collateral damage, right?

Police just blew it big time!!! They arrested a CNN camera crew and reporter for absolutely no fucking reason on live national TV. The CNN reporter was black. CNN people were obedient and polite and got arrested anyway. This is a game changer.

In another video I saw yesterday, cops sprayed tear gas randomly from a cop car as they sped past a crowd on onlookers. This is turning into 1968.

I was sympathetic to the cops and thought they were just trying to control the looting. But I've seen 2 examples of PIG behaviour in the last couple of hours. Cops are losing my sympathy fast.

The cops should be arrested and the looters should be shot.
Its ridiculous to afford the cop who murdered an innocent male and his accomplices due process meanwhile not affording the same due process to those who are looting the stores, and promoting their killings, not understanding the root cause of the problem. Don’t let your irrational thinking get in the way again.
That type of attitude reeks of entitled white privilege and is the main issue people in America are facing racism and bigotry the way they are.
It’s systematic oppression.

It is quite telling, that the police arrested a CNN camera crew and reporter, but did not arrest the people that burned down the police station.

Is that fake media?

There's more to it, the black CNN reporter's fellow reporter who is white, was detained and questioned for a bit by the police was not arrested, and was free to leave.

Were their lives ruined as much as Floyd and others like him?
Apparently, nothing short of this is supposed to be posted here.
