As an old fart, the first movie I saw on my own as a young teenager was The Blackboard Jungle that opened with a group called Bill Haley and the comets playing Rock Around The Clock. I was hooked from that day on 64 years ago still going strong.

Did you see the Jayne Mansfield movie "The Girl Can't Help It", with Little Richard, Eddie Cochran, etc.? That is my favourite rock movie from that era.
