she wasn't cooperating you could say. She was twisting her arm back in a resistive stance.
I felt bad for the officer. You can hear him heavy breathing struggling to contain the rampaging old flexible granny. Canadman and Mr. Knowitall are going to surely claim the cop is obese and is in danger of being also swallowed up by Covid. Grannies and Covid, is a recipe for a hurt fat cop.

Hope someone will beat the piss out of this guy at some point. He is clearly a sadist. His partners skin is crawling. Unless they are super fit, armed and belligerent, there is no reason to use this type of force on a senior citizen.

Anyone can be a criminal or a terrorist. Even a disabled person. One must be able to take anyone down.

Cops just can't help but make themselves look like thugs in the US

unbelievable footage ... no need to rough up people for 15,20 bucks let alone an elderly woman ... old people are forgetful all the time for no reason and if they suffer from Dementia they easily panic and get confused/scared ... the best way to deal with them is to go along with them into their world until they calm down ....

that police department should be embarrassed as this incident clearly shows a lack of training

I thought it said she had dementia and was confused, that is why she walked out and kept saying she was going home.

I saw a report that the Alzheimer Society is going to train the police dept. on how to deal with people with dementia. There is a training program that has been in existence for some time. That being said, anybody with any common sense and decency would not treat a frail, elderly person in this way, let alone being proud of it.

Not only that they denied her medical help and left her handcuffed in agony in her cell. There is a special place in hell for people like this...I hope.

I went to high school with two guys who became cops. Both were bullies. The police force is going to attract people with a certain mindset, and that mindset is typically aggressive, controlling and largely devoid of empathy. It would not surprise me one bit if psychopaths were over-represented in the police population.

I get it -- police have to deal with a bunch of bullshit on daily basis. I find it irritating when people slag off police just because they're police, but by the same token the idea put forth by some that police should automatically be put on the highest of pedestals is equally stupid.

Police are people, just like everyone else, and respect is to be earned, not automatically granted.

it makes you wonder how these clowns got a service gun and a badge in the first place
but not to worry... if they don’t get disciplined for the way they treated that poor lady , I’m a firm believer in life and the universe sooner or later correcting people’s misgivings ...

As I am sure people will tell you, this makes you anti-cop.
They have the badge, you have to respect them. Not just respect them, obey them.
Obeying isn't really enough either - you need to comply.

If you do not comply, they have every right to use as much force as necessary to make you comply.

I mean, that's what I've learned from listening to people on the board anyway.
