Every council vote on capital spending that has led to monumental financial and fiscal catastrophe was led by a center-right mayor and powered to infamy by a center-right council majority. These center-right majorities have wasted and squandered billions of dollars which btw continue consuming billions of dollars in ongoing operating costs.

1) The $1billion Sheppard stubway
2) The $2-3billion Scarborough subway extension.
3) The $2billion realignment of the eastern end of the Gardiner Expressway a few meters north.
4) The $1billion Smart Dumbtrack

In addition to the above financial and fiscal calamities it was the center-right mayors and center-right councils that voted in the majority to:

1) Cancel the fully Provincially funded Transit City Plan - billions of scarce resources down the drain
2) Scrap heap the Vehicle Tax - $60million a year in revenue down the drain

With that great power as you claim, these majority center-right councilors and center-right mayors have squandered the great responsibility that you also claim that they should be held to account for.

In addition, the TTC is the 2nd largest transit system in North America, second only NYC. Yet they are the least provincially and statewide, publicly funded transit system N.A. by a LOT. The province used to fund the TTC, but guess what. Yes, you guessed it, the center-right provincial gov't downloaded the funding onto the backs of the taxpayers of T.O., who hold as sacrosanct.

Spare me your drive-by musings as I know what if fancy and folly and what is evident and true.
You had me at "The Province should run this town". No need for further persuasion!

p.s. Good one with "stubway"!
p.p.s. Is the"quite mad" a Dark Side of the Moon reference, or something else?

The province, The Thug has since 2018 and still is.

The petty spite and tribal vendetta is quite evident.

If I were drowning at sea, I wouldn't care what the motivations were of someone who threw me a lifebuoy.

Don't forget to say "Thanks Dougie!"

I don't live in the GTA and don't really follow Toronto Politics, but I hope this guy gets in just because of his name - Brad Bradford for Mayor!

Neither does Dutch, but that doesn't stop him from proclaiming himself, TERB's ''drive-by and say goodbye', Toronto professor laureate.

I hope Rob "don't waste time and money on street signs" Davis and Mark "make Toronto safe again" don't split the vote.

Brad Bradford said council recently spent (wasted) 90 minutes debating the names for the subway stations on SmartTrack. Why not just name them "A", "B", "C", etc.?

Anti-police candidate Knia Sight scares me. His idea of reducing/eliminating crime is to defund/disband the police. He probably has cornered all the criminal votes.

No the following really is waste:

My lord, good man, it can't be that you want more of the same.

"Sir, can I have some more, please."

You're quite mad, you know.

The problem with policing is that they are constrained from doing their jobs properly. Look what happened to crime in our schools when the school resource officers were eliminated.

Is anybody happy with the lack if safety on our streets, schools, TTC, etc?

If Toronto streets aren't safe, we can only blame the previous Chief of Police. Now, who was that?????
Let me guess, is it someone Darts would be happy with as mayor to keep doing the same old, same old as he did as the so-called chief of police?

Now that is we call employing the pretzel principle whereby someone supports the same person who f*cked things up before, being promoted to a higher office, where he would f*ck up the same things he f*cked up before in addition to f*cking up many, many more things.

Ding, ding, ding ..... Gagnant .....we have a winner!

The "war on the car" is being waged by car drivers against other car drivers. All battling each other for an ever-dwindling square millimeter of tar.

There's no reason to have police in school. I never seen a cop in school back in the old country nor in Canada when I was attending The problem is with the boards who set policies and the teachers whose hands are tied. I'm not even talking about corporeal punishment, but a total lack of authority. When I was a kid in the old country, my teachers called me Mr. X and I called them Prof. Y. When I came here, I was shocked when teachers called me by my first name, you could talk to them while sitting, the classes were loud, disorganized and many students and quite a few teachers dressed like hobos. When you don't have standards, don't demand respect and excellence, you eventually end up with fucking elementary schools where hapless teachers defer to law enforcement.

A friend went to South Korea to teach ESL. He was amazed the students were always punctual, respectful and serious about their studies.
