A tank is simply an infantry support vehicle that's worth fuck all by itself in the modern missile environment. You need lots of them to advance because they're extremely vulnerable. And you need lots of infantry to suppress the antitank teams. Above all, you don't need the best and the most expensive, you need a lot of good enough to provide the direct fire support for the advancing infantry. Russian tanks are very good at killing their own crews, but are also light enough to be dragged away for repairs and are designed to be easily fixable as long as the shell is not blown open. And tank versus tank? Why would you risk an expensive asset in the uncertain outcome when at fraction of the cost a grunt with a missile can achieve the same result? We have seen that EVERYWHERE in Ukraine in the last year- tanks are being taken out by missile teams, precision arty strikes and mines. The one thing that will help Ukrainians in the western tanks is the superior fire control that can reach and hit farther than Russians can. That will be helpful in suppressing the antitank teams, but will still leave them extremely vulnerable to the Russian counter battery fire.
People still think in WW2 terms. Also, how much will the ability to hit farther really matter in street by street urban warfare fighting?

Very true about the WWII, after a whole year of fighting you'd think the internet experts would have noticed. You're not suppose to bring tanks into urban environments unless you're advancing on a broad front with infantry and the infantry fighting vehicles well in front.

But still important today.

Drones are doing recon and dropping small explosives, accurate artillery follows. Troops with tank support can move forward once mud season ends.

Most of the western reports on Russian losses are exaggerated nonsense. Absolutely none of them can be trusted. No one really knows.

BTW apparently Ukraine lost more than half its tanks in this war. Lets talk about that.

Oryx has been documenting losses by photos, those numbers are pretty good and not 'western' reports.

Its Hindustan Times or nothing for you these days.
The only 'unbiased source' you accept.

That's so sad that you don't even realize it.
What is sad is you grasping at straws and linking some random websites. Or western MSM which lie all the time.

I suspect, much like the War of 1812 in North America, Ukraine can win by not losing.
Absolutely. Thats why a ceasefire is necessary. It is a win for Ukraine. It is a win for Russia. It is a win for the Ukrainian people.

However it is a loss for the US/NATO alliance because they cant make money off of their proxy war. So I suspect this will go on for a while longer.

While you are the messenger of the truth told only by the Hindustan Times, the most noble and unbiased media source on the planet!
Its really amazing how some people just can't see how ridiculous their position gets over time.
Like the way rump defenders are still backing him or climate change deniers who still think nothing is happening.

A ceasefire means Ukraine loses 1/5 of their land and it gives Putin time to rearm and try again.
No security, massive land and resources loss for nothing.

A casefire followed by negotiations. Not just a ceasefire. The negotiations should achieve compromise. What that looks like is yet undefined.

It is an alternative view point to the propaganda that is being hammered into your head on a daily basis.

BTW Climate change is not as serious as the alarmists make it out to be. There are far more important things to fix.

I wouldn't agree ceasefire but more negotiations for status quo ante bellum. The question is 2022 or 2014.
I dont think without a ceasefire negotiations are possible.

For someone who hates Putin you are the one who keeps talking about sucking his dick or sniffing his ass. This is a pooner board squeeze. No judgements from me. I am pretty sure you keep a picture of Putin on your night stand and kiss it good morning and good night every day. :ROFLMAO:

And Russians are using even more drones and they outnumber Ukrainians in artillery 10- 1, tube AND rocket propelled.
