This situation is getting out of hand. Prosecutors in Spain have opened a preliminary “sexual assault” probe on Luis Rubiales, who has dug his heels and and refused to resign. His mother has locked herself in a church and begun a hunger strike over the “mistreatment and smear campaign” against her son.

The Spanish FA who are still backing him have now urged UEFA to consider suspending Spanish clubs from UEFA competitions in response to Spanish government officials trying to intervene and oust Rubiales, in an attempt to get Real Madrid and Barcelona to throw their support behind him.

"The Spanish FA urging UEFA to consider suspending Spanish clubs from UEFA competitions" doesnt mean much. His friends applauded vigorously when he gave the "I will not resign speech."

I saw the mother started a hunger strike. Still no lip reader said what he said before kissing her? He maid a mistake kissing her, he was clearly super super euphoric, he hugged everyone around, but I don't see this as some kind of rape. It has become a over the top politically correct thing and they fucked up the victory and celebrations for Spain. Too much drama

All he had to do was say that he got carried away in the moment and apologize to the player and this would have gone away.

Now it's getting spun out of control....In today's environment it's best not to have any physical contact with a female in these situations. How he cannot know this is beyond me.

I agree. i was watching the ceremony and and did realize that he was hugging the girl a bit too much... until Hermoso which was out of line. Still i think he would still have a job had he simply acknowledged the mistake right away.

I agree he should've apologized right away instead of being defiant. Should've known better, its like he was out of control or drunk. Wackos drool for this kind of stuff.

He's like fighting back now and just making the situation even worse.

Just own it.

Now Jorge Vilda coach of the victorious Spanish women team has been fired apparently for applauding Rubiales during his "I will not resign" speech. 🤯

Or maybe they fired him before the girls dig too much on his past behavior...

There is already a popular video of him firmly grabbing the chest of a girl... 12 girls preferred not to play the world cup under him. That's huge.

There is no doubt the guys know how to make a team play amazing. Great technical coach. But maybe, just maybe, he should focus on coaching a team of men ;)

Watching the penalty shootout reminded me when the NHL first introduced it to decide ties, and some players didn't take it seriously and just went through the whole motion like they didn't want to get picked. Some missed the net and some never even got a shot off because they skated too close and the goalie grabbed the puck. In the NBA, Rodman used to shoot free throws half assed until Jordan set him straight.
Wilt shot them with total disdain. He'd fire line drives with next to no arc.
