So....Lots of hate for Trudeau. I'm not a fan, to be clear. But, I'm not sure he's the worst PM in Canadian history. Shockingly, there aren't survey's from Canadian historians about this. In 2016, Trudeau was ranked as tenth best....with Kim Campbell as the worst, just ahead of John Turner.
Now, he is probably the most scandal plagued PM since Mulroney (remember Airbus?), but he keeps FUCKING UP IN THE SAME FUCKING WAY!!!
I know this will be controversial, but I think he handled the COVID crisis well. Much better than Trump. Was he perfect? Fuck no. But he tried to have clear and consistent messaging. The convoy crisis....well, in hindsight, it is easy to shit on him, but even the court that said it was unconstitutional also said it was probably appropriate at the time...
Bottom line, Trudeau is like many PMs. They have a shelf life, and even if he was flawless, Canadians would like a change. So, come the next election, there is a strong chance that the Liberals will be devastated. But, with that being said, there is still a lot of runway until the vote, and PP could really fuck himself over. I know some folks who have voted for both parties who were a little taken aback by the Alex Jones endorsement and some of his other actions, like calling the media liars. That US-style of politics is creeping in up here, but is still an outlier, for now at least.
