What happened to Vladdy saying he wouldn't negotiate during the season...Didn't I read that somewhere or am I wrong?
someone must’ve told him “buddy you’re just not clutch. I think you’re only walk off was my house my house my house take the damn money and shut up.”

Who would have thought that Bichette, Guerrero and Santander wouldn’t have a home run yet.

Would love to see Barger in this lineup batting 5th or 6th. I think the time is now. Doesn’t seem like Nathan Lukes is worth continuously running out there. Basically now he’s an automatic out. I feel like Barger has a lot to prove. He might potentially be the power third baseman that we want.

I agree, he's got a cannon for an arm, and that bat speed.

I also like his plate coverage and his ability to turn on almost anything. When I watch him, I feel like his “wheelhouse“ is so big and takes up so much space. It’s tough to pitch to guys like that.

Lukes sticks around for now because we need rotatable CF bodies until Daulton Varsho comes back.
For now he is a better roster fit than Barger only for positional needs.
Once Varsho comes back, Barger will be the better roster fit (assuming he is hitting at Buffalo). Could be the following move when Varsho comes back (where both Lukes and Straw are replaced)

Bo Bichette confirms during interview he will probably not be staying with the Toronto Blue Jays

If the choice was paying Vlad an AAV of $35M and Bichette and AAV of around $25-$30M AAV, the choice is clearly Vlad in my view. Both have battled inconsistency and Vlad has been more elite (when he is on). Note I framed the discussion in terms of AAV. (and ignored the length of Vlad's deal)

So many good hitting SS's now... and most of them field better than Bo as well. Bo's value has dropped in part because his peers at SS have improved so drastically the past few years. The theory that he was an elite hitter because he was a SS, no longer holds.

This team feels a lot like the 2023 team. Everything is going to be a frustrating battle... and its not going to be a fun watch like it was in 2021 or 2022 when they bashed more. But it is a team capable of getting in contention for the final WC spot if things go well.

My concern with Barger, is that if the Jays are in the race come end of June, and need relief help, Barger will be the type of player they try to move as their younger prospect pool is weak.

Straw is playing like his life depends on it. Barger had such a good spring. I think he would really step up to the opportunity of playing right now. They need to make Guerrero 3, Santander 4 happen. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though Guerrero can produce hitting second for whatever reason that would be. I thought Varsho looked good hitting second in spring training.

I’m happy for him. He’s proving so many people wrong right now. Myself included.

Next at bat he goes to the wall and Vlad gets douled off for leaving base too soon

Francis loses perfect game in fifth giving up homer

We have a true elite pitcher in Francis continuing what he did at end of last year
and no one can figure it out with low 90s fastball. It is about control and a great splitter
