He has donated a fraction of his wealth to doing good in the world. Just because he's not supporting specific causes you brought up, doesn't mean that's not the case.
I also don't know what you mean about "paying workers properly" when SpaceX and Tesla have competitive wages.

Unlike Trump, who primarily made his wealth in real estate, or else in ripping off people on name recognition, many of Musk's business ventures actually benefit society. Tesla made EV tech viable, and has been instrumental in getting the necessary infrastructure out there to convince many people to adopt an EV. Not to mention their contribution to other green energy initiatives. Then throw in the fact that SpaceX has revitalized the space industry, and made the U.S. less reliant on Russia...who isn't exactly a reliable partner. You also have the fact Tesla will be heavily involved in AI, and Musk is notably a proponent for responsible AI research, rather than the unfettered research some are pushing.

There's heavy investment in Neuralink as well, which has real potential to solve, or at least better, many of the health ailments that plague us.

Don't get me wrong, Musk has a lot of problematic personality traits, but he's done more good for the world than most, maybe all, people in my lifetime.
Surely, you are not naive enough to believe all that?
Tesla is known to be a toxic work place with excessive workload.
Building an EV business is also not a service to the community.
No one talks about the harm Lithium mining and disposal of dead batteries has on the environment while they are busy trashing fossil fuels.
Musk initially invested in OpenAI but I believe far more companies are ahead of Musk in AI research.
Neuralink doesn't appear too successful either.
A month after surgery 85% of the device's threads apparently detached from the patient's brain significantly reducing its effectiveness.
Even if they were to succeed in the future, I won't be holding my breath.
Same with inhabitation of Mars.
Anyone who knows the most basic stuff about planets knows that Mars is uninhabitable and we don't remotely have the technology to make it a viable place to live.
What an amazing trade that would be, leaving Earth, with all its natural beauty and free air, and go to uninhabitable Mars where you depend on Elon for breathable air. lmfao.
Musk is all about overpromising and under delivering.
He is as much a con man as Trump.

Cuomo betting on Trump but I do suspect Musk will be on Rogan and Joe will also be turning on Trumputin.

This is going to be awesome!!!!

Cuomo: Trump not losing in fight with Elon Musk
I did not listen to Cuomo.
But I do think in a war between Trump and Elon, Trump will win.
Elon at the end of the day is a private citizen.
No private citizen is going to win a war against the US government.
Plus the one no-no in MAGA, is to go against Trump, who is like Jesus to them. lmao.
I would also prefer it that way to be honest.
I consider Elon, Stephen Miller, Bannon, Hegseth, Vance, Patel, Gabbard, Bondi etc to be far more dangerous than Trump himself, who is just a dumbass with a lot of power.
These minions are the dangerous ideologues that need to be dealt with.

So true. Going against a corrupt US government is going to be hard, considering the rule of law now seems to be whatever Trump says it is.
All aided and abetted by a cowardly republican party who will not honor their oaths and do their jobs.

...AI is a dangerous tool left only in the hands of the federal government..
So how exactly is AI made safe in the hands of the state governments?
And what are these risks in your mind?
I am not saying there aren't any but this is just a convenient and self serving federalist "states rights" rhetoric she is pushing than any actual consideration or understanding of risks that AI poses.
She did not even read the bill before she voted on it, for god's sakes. lmao.

Trump and Elon have each other by the balls and they are dancing around to see who lets go first. The first guy that lets go will get his dick pulled off. Trump can not count on absolute and full loyalty from government employees, there may be insiders that want him gone. Elon has suggested the possibility that Trump was on some of Epstein's tapes, there is no going back on this matter. These two guys will destroy each other. Fortune and fame is all important to a pathological egotist.
Fight, Fight, Fight !! Musk will likely lose. But I hope the Orange Trash Bag gets knocked around big time resulting in permanent damage.

Trump may survive this, but what if new evidence surfaces of his involvement with Epstein's pedo ring.

The public feud between Trump and Elon is not about what is right or wrong, it’s more about money, pride, reputation, and status. Trump believes he is the king of the world and all of humanity, while Elon cannot be shamed after achieving the status of the richest man on Earth. These two have tarnished each other’s brands and made themselves laughingstocks, not just in the U.S., but around the world. The situation is unraveling quickly, and if hard evidence of Trump’s misdeeds surfaces, he could end up in prison faster than a Tesla can get him there in Ludicrous Mode. If that happens, Trump-branded properties could be worth pennies on the dollar, and his crypto ventures may plunge to zero. I suspect people are already beginning to distance themselves from the Trump brand. Elon’s brands will likely suffer as well.
The Epstein tapes may now be forced into the public eye after Elon hinted that Trump’s connections to Epstein run deeper than previously acknowledged. When Trump took office during his first term, he appointed individuals in key positions in the military and justice departments, possibly to prevent damaging information from surfacing. He also encouraged the rise of militia groups like the Proud Boys to create chaos and insurrection on his behalf. If allegations of pedophilia emerge, will the "Good Old Boys" still come to his rescue?
Trump has become the king without clothes, exposed, humiliated, and unable to hide behind the cronies and MAGAs who once shielded him. The very weapon he wielded for years, “fake news” has turned on him. The press, the courts, and the public will no longer grant him the benefit of the doubt. Every move he makes will be scrutinized. Even his staunchest MAGA supporters will demand confirmation or denial of every allegation. The playing field has been leveled.
In desperation, Trump may strike one-sided deals that benefit China. He’ll present these deals as proof of his statesmanship, hoping to distract from his troubles at home. But his misdirection will be obvious. The tariffs he once aggressively pushed on China and on other countries will quietly be abandoned as their harm to American businesses and workers becomes undeniable. As Trump gives China the upper hand, the world may quietly welcome the end of his chaotic trade policies and hope for more stable global relations.

I have to wonder if an insider gave Elon Musk solid information to help bring down Trump before the tariffs could inflict further damage on the global economy. The timing makes sense. With full awareness of the impact of Trump’s trade wars, especially the tariffs threatening global markets and supply chains someone with access may have seen Musk as a powerful ally to weaken Trump’s position. Is this merely a personal feud, or is there something deeper, more sinister at play?
