Union has rules and MLB has rules so what are the rules with an
all star vet like Santander when he gets healthy?
Can they send him to Buffalo ?
Do not have to put him in the lineup and watch him strike out?

4 HB is a bit of a concern.

I don't agree. This means he's not afraid to pitch inside. There are a lot of great pitchers in the top 100 for career HBP:

What stands out for me:

6'3", 210 lbs - excellent size for an 18 year old.

15.38 K/ 9 IP, or 1.7 strikeouts per inning.

5.86 K/BB. Greg Maddux: 3.37

2.63:1 ratio, ground outs vs air outs

4 GIDP induced in 12 opportunities.

Mind you, he's doing this in Rookie ball, but he's 2.9 years younger than the average player in his league.

Jays MVP so far

1 Captain KIrk

great defense in throws and framing the pitch for getting strike calls and handling pitchers. He hits ball hard and keeps it off the ground. Best high ball pitch hitter in MLB

2 Vlad

He is not a superstar homerun hitter and will never be
But, he seems good for 30 homers this year and hardest hitter in MLB. Has a very good OPS and is driving in runs and is not striking out so much and takes the walks as Springer and Kirk are supporting him

Those are the only two going to the all star game but I think Clements should

3 Berrios

Best ERA, best batting average against and most dependable as he always gives 5 innings or more which keeps the bull pen rested

4 Clements

Best utility player in MLB with glove and ball contact
Utility players are like long relievers as every club needs a great one but they go unsung

5 Bochette

having a come back year. Best opposite field hitter in MLB but there are too many great shortstops for Bo to make all star team

Honorable mention

Springer

canidate for comeback player of the year

Heineman

leads the team in OPS and is solid defense. Biggest surprise on the team and is the reason Kirk is doing so well as they can safely rest him

Barger

Second biggest surprise on team with power and average and a gun for an arm

Entire bottom half of hitting lineup as they are one of the best in MLB which is a very big surprise and the reason the Jays are doing better than the experts predicted and why the team will continue to score even when Vlad goes cold

64 pitches, 32 strikes. Currently suspended in the 10th due to lightning.

The team has the right to send him on a rehab assignment in the minors for up to 20 days. He then has to be called up.

The Spencer Turnbull era in Toronto is over. The Jays released him.

I think Scherzer starts tonight against the(boo, hiss) Yanks.

When Capitan Kirk runs the bases he reminds me of Devon White. Devo is still with the Jays as a player development assistant. Which confounds me, why isn't he on The Level of Excellence? One stat stands out in particular, he hit 34 triples as a Jay, he made life easy for those batting behind him.

Devon White was a good player, but he wasn't a great one. He only played for Toronto for five years and his numbers don't reach level of excellence status.

I would rather see the Jays fall off the map this month, so that they're sellers rather than buyers at the deadline. If they go 'all in' at the end of this month, they have the potential to possibly win a Wild Card berth, and perhaps get their first post season win in about ten years. This will only extend the rebuild.

I think they could get some good value for their expiring contracts, (Bichette, Scherzer, Bassit), and they may be able to pawn Springer and Gausman's last years onto somebody else - both are signed through 2026. If they don't, more than half of the 2026 budget will be eaten by the contracts of Guererro, Santander, Giminez, Kirk, Springer and Gausman and Hoffman, with a ton of holes to fill.

They aren't real contenders this year; they're a middle of the pack team on a hot streak. It's like when a midfield driver is leading an F1 race because all of the better cars have already made their pit stop.

Rogers, as always, has the 'We'll worry about that later" approach, delaying the inevitable for as long as possible.

What a stupid thought^^^

You got a team that's in a playoff spot with a shot at winning their division, they're only a game out. But this guy would rather see them tank so they can start the rebuild early and for what, maybe a chance to win the division or being in a playoff hunt farther down the road, my God they're in a playoff hunt and a chance win the division right now. Why would you tank?

Yankees fan sites are exploding.

The pinstripes have a major problem that they cannot fix. Aaron Judge is a gentleman, he has no Billy Martin within him. Two years ago Judge hit a single, as the ball was brought in to play Vlady gave him a nuts slap. So far Judge hasn't retaliated. The only player I've seen give Vlady a nuts slap was Carlos Santana.

I didn't share that with Yankees fans.
