I think he would receive same reception that a 70 year old black man would receive. If he is charming, good looking, young looking, well dressed, classy, good dancer and can attract younger females of whatever color then young black (or white) girls would be interested in whichever bar he goes. Race doesn't play a role here but looks, age, class, skills for dancing, happy mood, etc. do, that was why I said it is highly YMMV. It depends on individual but no, dance bars are not places to find sugar babies. Being a white man in Tropika may make you unique in the bar but it wouldn't give you an edge or advantage in my view.

A Thursday (7/3) visit to the 'Mate and things were slow when I arrived at about 4:15. By 5:00 the atmosphere had turned really deathly quiet but I guess the 5:00 - 7:00 time frame is the traditional 'dead zone'. Certainly hope that the club was a bit more active earlier and maybe later.
Noticed Samantha, Bella, Vegas and a few others. At about 5:15 a few ebony dancers arrived but I don't think I knew any of them. More patrons arrived a bit before 6:00 but not enough to liven up the feel of the club much. Departed at 6:45 or so. Today the club felt like a combination SC and neighbourhood bar, at least during the late afternoon while I was there.

1230 on a Saturday night, haven't been in many years. Waste of time. Mostly 3-4/10s half the girls were black chicks, rest looked rough. Couple had the telltale user looks..
Just go somewhere else. Surprisingly it had more clients than the fax has had in two recent visits.
But the fax girls are far better quality. Probably lower mileage though being fair

I hate to sound critical, but it's been years since I found it worth going to the Mate on a Saturday Night, but then again, that's just me....sorry for your uneventful evening there.
Just came from there and it’s boring. The dancers barely strip only taking their top off, the guests look just as bored as the dancers and my private dance was so bad I had to cut it after a couple of songs bc during every song the dancer would stop and then chat multiple times. Won’t be returning.
I think barely stripping is becoming the norm on the stage. I suppose if you want to see them fully naked, pay $$$$$ to see them in the back. I was in a few clubs in the States and found that this was the norm. That being said, Saturday nights generally blow, sorry you didn't enjoy yourself.
Not the norm at Barefax. I think it's actually a rule, first stage song is topless, second is everything else. I'm biased though, I've never even been to the Mate. Im curious about checking it out someday but doesn't sound like I'm missing much...
Many years of enjoying SC have noticed several changes….Things have changed quite a bit
Back in the 5$ table dance days stage show was 3 songs per stage show - 1st was an intro, 2nd topless, 3rd fully nude.
A few years ago when CR rooms got popular & some girls were pushing boundaries in there things changed again - several had the attitude that they weren’t getting naked on stage for free……then even in the CR some started asking for extra $$ to take everything off and exaggerating song counts, & etc…
In a way I understand - CR has been $20 per song for a very long time now but it still feels dishonest when the upcharges are brought up. Part of my reason for not going to SC’s much for last few years
I don't go to the clubs for the stage dances, so they can swing around the pole in winter parkas for all I care. I am scrolling my phone most of the time.
The women there make the vast amount of their money in the “champagne rooms”. So they have no vested interest in the dances.. most would get as many invites to the CR whether they went on stage or not.
I don’t know the owner’s business acumen, but if the topless dances are reducing patrons, that’s on them, not the dancers.
There are a few dancers there that keep me coming back. It isnt often, but once a month or once every two months I will drop in. It is more expensive in the CRs than seeing escort, but if I want I can see 3 dancers for 5 songs instead of 1 SP for an hour.
And of course the option to take the women upstairs has had an impact. Some give lower mileage than before and suggest that if you want more you should go upstairs.
I don’t want to dwell on what was and what will never be…. the $10 CR days were amazing at Playmate. In the late 90S to early 2000s I used to take $500 and spend the entirety of Friday afternoons there. Lots of fun dancers.

I hear what everyone is saying and it makes sense. while everything isn't for everybody - and call me simple - when I go to a SC, I expect stripping to occur in the club. If I like what I see on stage then maybe there will be some time spent in the CR...or even if the atmosphere is lively and entertaining then the stage dance won't matter as much and a trip to the CR is possible...but a low energy atmosphere mixed with low effort makes any night a bad night
Yes, times have indeed changed. Everything from the bottle-blonde/enhanced breasts/bikini tan lines/full-on bush/, to more "natural" bodies and shaved/waxed pubes, to what we have today.
In the past, dancers would actually DANCE and put on a good show on stage. There was also a lot more "audience participation" with stage tipping, but that abruptly stopped (I think due to regulations/laws), so dancers made a fair amount of money on stage. the $5 table dances (topless if you're lucky) were a thing - along with $5 beers/drinks (which were considered pricey back in the day), and they were pretty much auditions for the CR. You could interact with the dancers before making the choice to go the CR (or not).

I think I posted about this in the past... but once I was in the CR and after 3 very liberal naughty dances the dancer asked if I was interested in going upstairs. I really don't go upstairs.... but out of curiosity I asked how much it would be. She said something ridiculous like $300 for the half hour. I turned down the offer, but said I would make her a deal. I handed her $300 and said to stop when the money ran out. The naughty dances IMMEDIATELY turned to air dances. After 4 air dances I got the hint and told her to stop. You would think $300 would be $300. I guess the more clients you can get to go upstairs, the quicker you make the big bucks. Never pay in advance again ... and never asked that dancer to the CR again.
Nice to hear from someone who remembers the nineties. Back then, Friday afternoon was the time to go there. It was packed and I mean packed from 1pm until closed.
I haven't been in a little while, but I do find the Playmate to be a fun way to relax and blow off some steam.
I've seen some great stage dances, although it's true, they are not all inspired. But whatever, you get those for the price of a beer. (I usually go weekday afternoons.)
The place is chill and a lot of the woman are pretty "real" -- i.e. genuine conversations and you are just hanging out.
There are some wonderful women there, I can assure you.
And you can get to know them up close in the CR for... whatever you want to pay $40, $60, and upwards... If you don't like how it goes, you're only out a few $20 bills.
And of course, as other have mentioned, there can be the possibility of taking the encounter somewhere more private... or exchanging numbers, or whatever happens.
For me it's a fun, casual way to meet working women and to blow some money.

I'm sure dancers have offered to bring me somewhere private for $300/hh.
But in my experience the much more common ask is $200/hh. Which I think is pretty standard for Ottawa, and not a bad deal considering you know exactly who you are going to be spending time with.
CR can get expensive fast though, I hear you.

Then you have to add-on the room fee for "upstairs"...
Every once in a while you’ll find a gem @ the SC that is an indie as well.
