I think again you're having trouble following the discussion.
There are plenty of comedians that cater to a broad audience making fun of both sides (Maher, Gutfeld, Gillis, etc.). What many are saying here is guys like Colbert and Kimmel wear there politics on their sleeves and deliver much political humor to a shrinking, left-leaning audience.
You need to expand your world.

True, but Biden and Harris were the funniest thing happening in 2024. There was very little from Colbert and Kimmel.
To his credit, I think Stewart made fun of their campaign.
Stewart pokes fun at everyone, but he still hates Trumps guts...he's just not as passionate as Colbert. His last segment shows he's still a hater.
I bring a different, and more interesting, angle to the thread.
Ok so they are only leftist or both side humorist. But what triggers rightist like Trumpy to not be able to be laughed at?
Stephen Colbert has pretty much always been my number one celebrity crush. I like them nerdy, what can I say.

Interesting read. That kind of explains why the right wing is so easy to fall for a Kool-Aid scam and conspiracy theory.

100 million annual production costs, 200 staffers!, Colbert salary 15-20 million, steady ratings decline since 2018, he has little appeal to streamers so CBS can't even grab some revenue from Youtubers, etc.
All this and a 40 million annual loss...the guy should be grateful to CBS for keeping him around for so long lol. If he had any business savvy or self awareness he would have seen it coming.

I think bitter and angry types will only laugh at things like those videos of people wiping out. Its a lack of empathy. Doctorow touches on it, but the rich's of this board are a prime example. Where rich knows he's not funny but by repeatedly trolling the board with El Risitas gifs feels like he is laughing at us instead of being mocked and belittled daily.
