I wouldn't say schadenfreude.
People are just not mourning him because he was vile.
This infuriates the right.
Many of his comments also didn't age well and the irony cannot be missed.
People are just pointing that out.
I don't think anyone is advocating for irresponsible use of firearms, the details in what comprises of responsible ownership and use is where the disagreements happen. It is doubtful any of those things would have actually prevented this from happening because ultimately, where there's a will, there's a way.

He called for public execution of political opponents and wanted those executions to be quick, public and televised.
MAGA is now demanding that for liberals.
And you still haven't answered my question on the video on the very same subject I posted in the morning.
If I buy a steak knife knowing full well that 99% of the people will use that knife responsibly and not hurt anyone, but <1% will not and start stabbing people, do I then deserve to get stabbed to death for pointing out that the small percentage of deaths is unfortunately acceptable, so normal people can use steak knives to cut their meat???

I'm jsut having fun with word play. I know you are not one of those anti-trans knuckle draggers, Many of whom who claim it is a "choice", are mad that they are fighting their choice. Being heterosexual myself, there is no "choice" in my head. Nothing in the world would make me feel sexual towards a man. It doesn't occur to me that there is any choice in the matter. Looking back at my childhood, there were kids that, from like age 5, displayed signs of being feminine. Turns out that each of them that I have since met or learned about somehow, ended up being gay.
I sometimes work with a trans 'girl'. Nothing flaming about her. Great worker, does not sexualize herself in any way. Dress, mannerisms etc are what I'd consider normal Don't know if she is post op or to what degree but you'd really have to think and look hard to even suspect her. Mid -20s, tall, long hair a bit lanky and would certainly cause a guy to look twice at her in terms of being attractive. Until I was told, I had no idea. It would have taken me a while to figure it out. Have had some conversation with her about her "choice" and she says she always felt like a girl. From as early as she can remember. Said it was difficult 'coming out' because her parents are very traditional and she was so worried that she might become outcast from the family. Fortunately, her parents loved her so much that, while it was difficult for them to accept, they did and have been loving and supportive. She lives what she says is a 'normal life' now.
First time I've ever known a trans person but have heard similar from gay friends.
To me, growing up in the 70's when being called a 'fag' was the ultimate insult, I am happy that the LGBTQ.xyz123 people are able to live normal lives without too much hate and bad energy around them.
But I don't agree with trans women competing against female athletes. Maybe if sports gets split up more like heavyweight/welterweight boxing by size etc than I'd maybe be ok with it. But I think it's unfair to chomosome-biological women to have to compete against chomosome--natural men

He believed in no laws. He was an absolutist on this subject. And again, clearly stated that he accepted the price of gun violence for that right.
Of course the shooter will pay a price too. As he should. But my indifference is a direct result of his idrology
