The surgeon who treated Charlie Kirk after the fatal shooting in Utah has described the circumstances of his death as ‘an absolute miracle.’
He stated that the bullet that struck the conservative activist in the neck did not exit his body, likely preventing additional casualties.
Andrew Kolvet, a spokesman for Turning Point USA, shared the account on Saturday night, revealing he spoke directly with the surgeon.

‘I apologize this is somewhat graphic, but in this case, the fact that there wasn’t an exit wound is probably another miracle, and I want people to know,’ Kolvet wrote in a post on X.
According to the surgeon, the .30-06 round that hit Kirk ‘absolutely should have gone through,’ noting that such high-powered ammunition is typically used to hunt big game like deer, elk, and even moose.
‘I’ve seen wounds from this caliber many times and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two,’ the surgeon reportedly told Kolvet, adding that
Kirk’s bone density was ‘so healthy’ it stopped the round.

The coroner later found the bullet lodged just beneath
Kirk’s skin.
The surgeon said that had the bullet exited, it could have struck others standing nearby.
‘Even in death,
Charlie managed to save the lives of those around him,’ Kolvet added.

The revelation comes on the eve of a public memorial for Kirk, scheduled for Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The service, set to be televised nationally, will feature eulogies from former President Donald Trump, Senator JD Vance, and Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk.
Kirk, 30, was fatally shot on September 10 during a live debate event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, the first stop on his ‘American Comeback Tour.’
The shooting occurred in front of hundreds of attendees and was captured from multiple angles on livestream and cell phone recordings, which quickly spread across social media.
Chaos erupted on campus as students fled. Police initially detained two men, who were later cleared of involvement. On September 11, the FBI released surveillance photos of the suspect, prompting Tyler Robinson’s parents to recognize their son and persuade him to turn himself in.
Robinson, 22, was arrested on September 12 and has since been charged with capital murder and six additional counts.
