Are you Pro-Israel, or Anti US support of Israel?

Senator John McCain's brother on The Jews & Israel. There is a lot of worry popping up in the media just now -- "Can Israel Survive?" Don't worry about it. It relates to something that Palestinians, the Arabs, and perhaps most Americans don't realize -- the Jews are never going quietly...

    Ottawa down, Toronto next?

I think her name (at least as published in the Star) was something Goldberg. I know her from her days dancing at Filmore's as Gemini. She was also the first girl from a Toronto SC that I had take-out from. How hypocritical is that?

    Pooning around the world

Can any of you compare Bangkok/Pattaya to Phuket/Patong? I was in Patong last year and can't imagine Bangkok/Pattaya being much better. Kata Noi Beach is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, the food at the Kata Thani Resort was some of the best I've ever eaten, and the number and quality...

A challenge for all Internet search pros

I generally consider myself pretty good at searching for info on the Internet and can almost always find what I'm looking for. However, in this case I've struck out so far. I'm trying to find a Canadian source (either a store in Toronto or a Canadian website) where I can purchase filé powder...

    New Orleans Christmas

Damn! Now you've got me reminiscing. If you want to stay out of the tourist places and hang with locals, some other good places are: Tyler's Beer Garden: Live jazz, cheap beer, cheap food (raw oysters, blue crab, BBQ shrimp) Tipitina's: Great live music The Dungeon: Where the people who work...

    New Orleans Christmas

You really can't go wrong eating anywhere in NOLA. Even the tiniest out-of-the-way places generally have great food. I second the Camellia Grill recommendation. Another really good diner is Ye Olde College Inn (it's at the opposite end of S. Carrollton Avenue from the Grill). Once you're there...

    Bill Maher

Bill Maher delivered one of my all-time favorite funny lines. It was during the Bill Clinton/Gennifer Flowers controversy and the line was... I can't believe he got in so much trouble just for offering her a position on the Governer's staff.

    Best movie of all time

I agree with many of the movies mentioned previously, but if I may mention one of my favorite hidden gems (i.e. wonderful movies few have seen or even heard of), try "Get Crazy". It's sorta like Rock and Roll High School on acid. Not exactly haute cinema but highly entertaining.

    Best Steak in Toronto???

While better known as a Prime Rib place, I think that The Old Scott House (across from the Scarborough Town Centre) has one of the best steaks in the city. Morton's, Ruth Chris and Barbarians are also good. Have been disappointed at Tulip, Octagon and especially House of Chan.

    U.S. clubs

You can take a look at bigdoggie.net. It covers most major US cities but doesn't seem to contain much in the way of useful info.

    Best Hamburger ???

Since no location was specified, here are a couple of the best burger places I've found outside of Toronto... Absolute best: Port 'O Call in New Orleans. They take an entire sirloin steak, put it through the grinder and fry it up. Also excellent: Ted Peter's in St. Petersburg, FL While it's...

    Best Hamburger ???

Try Apache Burger on Dundas near Kipling. In addition to great burgers, their onion rings are out of this world.

Whiskey a go go beach bash july 19

I haven't been to a WAGG Beach Bash for a couple of years but when I used to attend (the years prior to the rennovations) it was quite interesting. First, you get to see all the girls (at least those competing in the wet t-shirt contest) in natural light (CAUTION: This is not for the faint of...

Have you ever been to Thailand

While I didn't have the opportunity to hobby when I was in Vietnam (Da Nang), two things stand out in my memory... (1) The streets filled with bicycle riding young schoolgirls all looking fine in their white school uniforms. (2) While in an open air market, a cute young thing grabbed my crotch...
