10.10 seemed to be a bit beastly on my IBM T42 (1.7Ghz 512MB) laptop. So I dropped it down to 10.04.. then finally down to 9.04. but 10.10 runs like a charm on my IBM T60 (dual 1.6ghz 4GB) I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one using it.
