Where did you get the "in Canada" from?

I read the article and all the closings were in Texas and owned by a single franchisee, "The Lonestar Project".

From reading other sources after a quick google I learned that Dairy Queen Head Office threatened the franchise owner with termination if they did not remodel and bring their restaurants up to date. The franchisee refused to, so DQ terminated some of their franchises and stopped shipping food and supplies to the remaining outlets.

One of the oldest DQ's in Canada is in Port Colborne.
Opened in 1954. The first DQ in Canada is in Estevan, Saskatchewan in 1953
Here is a picture of the Port Colborne DQ.

Dairy Queen is overrated I much prefer an Oreo McFlurry 😝

The only thing I like about Dairy Queen is their blizzard ice cream cakes reminds me of my childhood when I wasn’t such a hoe looool 🤣🤣

The Port Colborne pic reminds me of two Ottawa locations, now gone: corner of Merivale & Clyde; corner of St. Laurent & Beechwood. No idea how old those locations were.

I like a banana split once in a while. With caramel instead of chocolate. Creates a lot of confusion at the counter. Got 3 people into a tribal panicked huddle once. Babbling away in their own language. Finally settled down after I explained what I wanted a couple more times. They brought me a banana split with chocolate instead of caramel.
There was a Dairy Queen around the junction (Keele Dundas area) back in the seventies when I lived around the corner. They had a sign up saying "Banana Sluts special $1.99 for a couple of months. Days before cell phones. I wanted a picture of it.
I always have an anecdote.
