One of the big stories is again very poor turnout.

On track for the worst or second worst turnout percentage ever.

Fucking pathetic.

You can keep saying shut up but I guess the majority of Canadians have shut the door on you and proven you wrong.
What about that reality doesn't register with you?
Considering the increased seat count, increased vote percentage (they are with under 2%) I would hardly call it a clear majority. A recession can and will change those numbers pretty quickly. Or just one misstep.

It was such a lay up for Pierre but Should have stood strong against Trump and Trumpism and people would have voted for him.
In other words, do a Trump. A promise that folks want to hear but his true belief and then if elected will do the opposite of what he said in order to get elected?

If you have some assets, a movable business/source of income and are willing to take care of yourself?

Almost anywhere - the US, Mexico, Dubai, Singapore, many places in South America do not charge tax on foreign sourced income.

Imagine 10 years of work making even just 100k per year vs. being raped by the Canadian government to perform gender surgeries in Uganda.
US, the IRS will come for you. They always do. Mexico? Not as nice as you think, I have friends living there. It's as much about putting up with shitty things.

Dubai? If you are rich, sure.

Singapore? Not exactly a free nation.

South America? Really.

Cripes every place you listed have a much more powerful oligarchy and gucked up justice system than Canada.

Taxes pay for services. I get it, you hate people, don't want to live in a nice community. So seriously feel free to either leave, or fight better in the next election.

Btw I voted Conservative. But I accept election results. And realize that Canadian govts govern from the centre.

Don't worry I will be heading to Alberta and exploring options to move out of the country.

And I have lived in both the US and South America - there are tradeoffs everywhere. Canada now to my mind is just as corrupt as any country down there. Disagree if you like - 11 confirmed traitors in parliament and the Green Slush Fund which paralyzed it all fall say differently.

I never said I didn't want to pay any tax and want zero services - but Canada is now not worth the squeeze with a million hands in your pockets.

PP may have lost his seat. Til a few months ago, the Cons were predicted to be headed towards a massive majority, but the combination of Trump's insanity and the appearance of Mark Carney now has the Libs just a few short of a majority, which can easily be bolstered by a handful of NDP members in a confidence vote. So PP is a big flop and his party will have no power in the House.

In the US the risk of audit is very low. And even if have a deficiency very hard to force collection, especially if your wealthy so don't have wages to lien against etc.

Trump's likely fraud-riddled tax returns (remember how he inflated or deflated values when the head of the Trump Organization went to prison) were too complicated for the IRS to audit, given all the shell corporations and transfers between entities, which are ripe for tax evasion. The IRS said it could not afford outside expert tax attorneys to figure out his organizational structure, seemingly designed to hide transfer to increase tax basis and various tax cheating.

Now the IRS funding has been drastically cut so they are less able to audit, especially complex, wealthy folks returns.

A computer can easily catch math errors, and if W2 or 1099 wages, compensation so most audits are relatively easy. You are just sent a notice of a error not any funding for agents to go out and visit you, just typically mail audits.

Many decades ago, I was a tax senior at the then Big 8 CPA firm Touche Ross (now part of Deloitte), reviewing tax returns prepared by juniors for many of the wealthiest individuals in the Minneapolis area. Back then, tax shelters in real estate were common but legal, and now they are long gone. I was not a partner, so I never met the many famous and wealthy clients I worked on, but I was one of the last stops before being passed on to a partner who worked directly with the client. Even a famous one with a still unsolved $1m ransom kidnapping wife. The FBI agent who delivered the ransom had to include a sworn statement in the return (theft loss).

Canadians are so stupid they re-elected some of the absolute worst cabinet ministers ever to hold office:

Mark Miller, Sean Fraser, Stephen Guilbeault, Anita Anand and Karina Gould all re-elected.

Bahaha the retardation is truly stunning.

Moronto even elected Evan Solomon - guy who was fired from CBC for using his political connections to do art deals on the side and then went on to work for Eurasia Group - the climate scam company which got millions of dollars from the Canadian government and employed none other than Gerald Butts and...Mark Carney's wife!

Canadians are literally the dumbest people alive.

In Mexico, you also pay "taxes" to the cartels. Or your kids disappear on the way home from school.

Dubai? - Yeah, the standard "Let's fuck off to a corrupt place with no taxes" destination - if you have a $$$ billion or 2 to spare.

South A? - have you seen the crime rates in those countries???

:D 🥴😹😹😹😹

As an Ottawa area MP, it was an act of foolish hubris for PP to support the Canker Convoy. Now he's squandered the the Conservative Party's massive war chest by losing his seat. They would have been better off with Erin O'Toole.

The Liberals lost Vaughan and with it a majority government. I got it wrong, Michel Guglielmin won by a bigger vote spread in Woodbridge than Anne Roberts in King. It's essential that the CCP hold on to these ridings if it wants to form a future government. Carney missed a majority by two seats.

A Trevisano no less, future Party leader?

4 seats short of a majority.

Libs under performed polling badly. They were predicted to get a 20 seat majority.

Otherwise, a decent turnaround from the virtual annihilation that seemed certain in December.

Jamil Jivani did the most bizarre and divisively fratricidal TV interview that I have ever seen from a politician, essentially opening a civil war between Duggo (and party moderates) and the other Trump style far righties.

Pee looked survivable until being washed out of his own seat in a seat of voter vomit and loathing.
