I’ve been a hobbyist for a little over 25 years, and was just reflecting on my time as a patron of the industry. While social stigma is still prevalent amongst the uninitiated civilian population, I’ve always felt like I was handed the keys to the kingdom! In fact, almost everyone I’ve had the pleasure of associating with over the years have been some of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life. Truly above and beyond, in all respects. Here are a few instances I’d like to share with you all:
1) Greg at Select: When I was making my first foray into the world of adult entertainment, websites were just becoming a thing lol. There were no photos, just elegantly written descriptions. I still had trepidations, but decided to bite the bullet and call Select. I spoke with Greg, who spent 20 minutes with me, explaining all the ins and outs (fitting choice of words lol!). I was so impressed that he took the time out of his busy day to do that, I’ve never forgotten it. I became a loyal Select customer for years afterwards.
2) Danny at Executive Choice: I’d called EC before Danny took over, and ended up with a bait and switch. I ended up writing a review, and not too long afterwards, I got a message from Danny who had just assumed control at the time. He apologized for his predecessor’s actions, and offered to let me see a lady free of charge, even though he was completely blameless for what had transpired previously. I thought that was very big of him.
3) One of my favourite regulars offered to take me out for a nice lunch off the clock before our appointment. It was something she didn’t have to do by any means, but did anyway. I thought that was very sweet of her. We had a great time over food and drinks, catching up on old times and relaxing.
4) Once, I booked a new lady with positive reviews for an hour, as I had plans later on that day. To my surprise, she ended up staying for four hours (completely her choice) which made it feel much more like a real date. I definitely was not expecting that!
5) I remember a lot of the socials the ladies and gents attended over the years… good times, a hell of a lot of fun with some networking thrown in for good measure!
It’s been quite the adventure to say the least! I’m fortunate to have a treasure trove of memories that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I’m also still seeing one of my regulars on a monthly basis - 19 years and counting! Feel free to share some of your own experiences if you wish…
