I think it's by design. Generally you have to be fairly attractive to be on TV but weather women are a special breed. They usually have to be a level up from regular reporters in general. I mean look at the CTV tandem of Lyndsay Morrison & Jess Smith or City TV with Jessie Uppal, Stella Acquisito, Michelle Mackey and of course Natasha.
