Indeed, in fact I think future air defense will be a drone cloud. When there is a threat launch 100K drones and they form a cloud, as radar tracks the threat, the drones converge on a set of coordinates then the one close by explode on command creating a cloud of AI aimed shrapnel. After the threat is gone the undetonated drones land back in their storage locations and recharge wirelessly.Sure, but you can fire a bunch of drones for 1/1000th the cost and keep a jet too busy to take them all down.
