The no-move contract doesn't stop Berube from putting him in the press box.Rielly's on a no move contract. The Leafs are stuck with him.

His hefty salary does. Bench him and trading him makes it harder to do should he ever decide to waive it. I never understood why only Maple Leafs want to stay when things get rough but GTFO ASAP come July 1st.The no-move contract doesn't stop Berube from putting him in the press box.
Or at least relegating him to 2nd or 3rd D pairing. The no-move contract doesn't stop Berube from putting him in the press box.
My thoughts exactly.Even if Rielly agrees to waive his no trade, the Leafs would still have to give up an arm and a leg to bribe a team to take him. The bold move I’d like to see Treliving make is to buy him out. There would still be 1/3rd of his salary left to boost the roaster somewhere plus you’d get rid of the team’s biggest liability without losing assets. That would be the kind of DNA change that Treliving promised.
When Berube said he’s not worried about Rielly, he becomes a problem himself. Rielly has been on a rapid decline over the last 3 seasons. There were suggestions that he put in extra work in the summer to lose a few pounds. That hasn’t produced much improvement in his performance. If Berube can’t even see that, he needs to find another job.
I certainly wouldn't. I couldn't even stand Marner, when he was a member of the Leafs.Serious question:
If Marner were to win the Cup this year and bring it back to his hometown to celebrate, as it is tradition, would anyone come out and attend outside of his immediate family parents, the wife, Zeus?
Every team in the Pacific Division has a negative goal differential.
Most goals against award goes to Morgan Reilly. Nobody has been on the ice in the NHL this season for more goals against than Morgan Reilly. My thoughts exactly.
I get protecting your players but if you have to make the comments Berube made after a game like that,
it suggests the player has a fragile mindset.
Rielly has been terrible since the 2022-2023 season. In game 7 against the Bruins in 2023, he was the main culprit for the goal that eliminated the Leafs. On the positive side, keeping him and playing him 25+ minutes will give the Leafs a better chance in keeping their high first round pick. Most goals against award goes to Morgan Reilly.
