You cannot open a car door or start a car without the keys, if you don't own it unless one is a car thief and they'd need specialized equipment for it.
Anyone can operate a gun on the other hand, even if it doesn't belong to them.
If you connect it to this particular case...the same person can operate the vehicle his mom or dad owns to ran over anybody....like I said....intent is key...the medium used to kill someone can be legally acquired or illegaly acquired...it's the person operating behind it is what makes it deadly...not the object.

Yes, and they need the keys to do so.
With a gun anyone can pull the trigger and the weapon would work. It does not have inherent safety features that cars do.
So its apples to oranges comparison.

Gobbledygook.
But you do and still managed to put the "trans"...why?
Because they are biologically male and transitioned. Gender identity and sex are not the same.

We need to stop with the political spin on things. The person who did this is a murderer and took innocent life’s with them because of their own mental illness. Mental illness is not an excuse to take someone’s life. If you want to off yourself, go ahead but don’t drag others down with you.
Seems like the police were more concerned with being politically correct rather than focusing on protecting those in need.

guns don't lie around in cupboards (unless you're irresponsible)
They are in safes or guncases with locks just like cars (logical)...you have a lot to learn about gun ownership.
transitioning doesn't change your biology.

Gun cases are easier to break in than cars.
And regarding transitioning, it does change biological characteristics like hormone levels, body composition etc.,

Gun safes are harder to break in than cars lmao.
Also transitioning doesn't change biologically, it may lower hormone levels, body composition is the same...males don't generate eggs and females don't generate sperms... women don't grow balls and men don't naturally develop vaginas...they can get surgery and make a vagina-like orifice where their balls and penis used to be...let me know how good that feels when you fuck one....i'd like to hear from your experience...

Of course gun safes are easier to break in and once broken in the guns are easy to use. Not the case with cars.
Changing hormone levels, body composition etc are biological changes lmao.

"thieves worked to open the 770 kilogram concrete and steel safe he had had installed in his north Toronto apartment. For nearly two days, burglars used sledgehammers and blowtorches to open the vault..."

And the owner was still charged with unsafe storage.

Criminalization, is what it is; I'll say it again and again, it's not about public safety, it's about politics.

why werent the bullets and rifles locked up properly and safely by the mother??? she petitioned to have her guns given back to her then seems to have failed
This, more than anything else, is what people should be focused on:

1: Person in mental health crisis (separate from being transgender), multiple calls to police
2: Guns removed from home
3: Guns given back
4: Everyone dead.

The mom already paid for her mistake, but changes need to be made to make sure the mistake can't be made again. Just like people with domestic violence charges and animal cruelty charges shouldn't be allowed near guns, as that's a real correlation.

Yeah and I am willing to bet most people don't have a 770KG concrete and steel safe at home. Example: This particular shooting in BC.
Also how is it safe storage if the burglars were able to get to the guns anyway?
These guns were locked up. They were legal guns.
Now that they were stolen, they are now illegal guns. It supports my point that illegal guns start of as legal guns.
So the governments direction to remove guns from circulation is correct.
Had this home owner been required to hand in his guns, there wouldnt have been a burglary, and there wouldnt be a charge, and there wouldnt be illegal guns.
Thank you for making my case for me.

like i said intent is key...if you can break a gun safe, you can also break into a vehicle. legally or illegally both can be deadly weapons with intent.
as for trans discussion...those are esthetical alteration doesn't change biologically...again..let me know how it feels to fuck an orifice that used to be balls and penis...when you can confirm it delivers just like a woman's vagina does...then i might change my mind....

This is the government's fuck up. They should find a safe storage manufacturer for rifles and ammunition and say moving forward Canadians should only buy this particular safe that perhaps comes in 3 or 4 different sizes to accomodate various gun collections or buy more safes if you have a larger collection. And state if thieves break into it then it's not the fault of the gun owner at all. Why should it be???

If it took burglars 2 days to break open a safe when the owner was down in Florida why was the blame put on him??? Most general safes can be opened that way with such tools compared to a bank vault or so. Then that gun owner who was a gun trainer also had to stay longer in Florida to avoid coming back to Canada to be arrested. Not sure what happened later on, but bullshit is the answer for the law to even think about charging him. What if it took the crooks 5-7 days to finally crack it open? It's still his fault? What if he had cash and gold inside the safe? Would insurance say it's his fault when it took crooks days to break it open with a sledgehammer and blowtorch not a general hammer.
they can make gun safes a requirement upon purchase.
