Reminds me of that hydrogen fuelled truck scam company a while back that showed one of their trucks "driving" down a highway. to prove they were road ready except the truck was actually just free rolling down a part of highway that had an incline.

Or my favorite part, the owner of the company insisting the truck on stage with him was fully functional and had not been rolled in manually and staged even going as far as to let someone film the interior and showing the truck being turned on and front panel was fully working but then someone posted a video of wiring coming from below the stage hooked up to that panel and the rest was basically an empty shell they had built a few days prior.

Any bullshit for investor money...

This is nothing but a desperate gimmick to save Tesla, whose sales are cratering.

First, it's not a flying car. It has a few seconds of air propulsion that can lift the car up for a very short time. It would never be able to fly above the ground for regular travel.

Second, there's no way that would get approval. You would need a special license to "fly" it. The dangers are immense. Any malfunction, just a single time, would mean severe injury or death to the occupants and anyone who it lands on.

Elon Musk is supposedly working on a flying car that could be operational by 2028 sometime.

Pretty damn cool

Pure publicity stunt with an exhibition car.

The entire interior is taken up by a massive carbon fibre wrapped titanium sphere filled with something like 10,000 psi of nitrogen that powers those thruster nozzles. It blew its load doing that simple stunt.

As a Tesla and Space-X investor, I think these egomaniac stunts like this and the masturbatory fantasy of going to Mars are a waste of money.

As for the persistent fantasy of "flying cars"... we already have them. They are called airplanes and helicopters. And you need training, good judgement and sophisticated air traffic control to not have hundreds of fatal accidents everyday. FFS, Toronto drivers can't even operate in TWO dimensions without making into each other, parked cars, pedestrians, cyclists etc. Now give them overhead power lines, antennae etc?

I used to fly helicopters and I'll tell you that NOTHING has changed about the physics of powered lift vertical flight. You need to match four little ducted fans to equal the lift of those two whomping big blades and buzzing tail rotor to lift the same amount of weight/mass. And those little ducted fans are far less efficient than big large length and chord slow turning blades. Never mind that ALL aircraft are seriously dependant on LIGHT WEIGHT to be useful. Energy density of lithium batteries is nowhere near that of gasoline or kerosene. So a typical Bell Jet Ranger light helicopter could run for less than 30 minutes on the same mass of kerosene jet fuel that would power it for 3 to 3.5 hours.

Pick one?
That looks like a laundry list of a petty Musk hater....lmao...so he's putting a "flying car" ahead of those....sue him. oh wait...you really can't.
I don't want to make this a political post though...
This is a tesla marketing ploy to show everyone they're way ahead when it comes to Auto Tech....They're now working on something else and have moved on from EVs....we're leagues away from air vehicle traffic. not in my lifetime at least.

I cannot wait to see all the lawsuits that come of this from people being crushed by Teslas, no longer will pedestrians have to look left and right to not get hit now they'll start being attacked from the skies

I don't expect there will be any.
He announced this roadster in what... 2017?
Now he has this demo one and is taking "pre-orders" but there is no reason to believe they will ever be delivered to anyone.
