Australian Feliks Zemdegs wins the 2013 Rubik's Cube World Championship completing his fastest single solve in 7.36 seconds.

The 17-year-old Feliks Zemdegs was crowned the Rubik's Cube World Champion following a three-day competition in Las Vegas.

Over 500 competitors from 37 countries took part in the event which included 15 cubing events.

Mr Zemdegs won the title after scoring a fastest average time of 8.18 seconds for solving the 3x3 cube.

His fastest solve of 7.36 seconds wasn't the fastest of the competition, but his average time over five rounds was the quickest.

Second place Mats Valk from the Netherlands made the fastest solve of 7.31 seconds, but his average time was slower than Mr Zemdegs at 8.65 seconds.

Mr Zemdegs received $3,000 (approximately £1,960) in prize money and the championship trophy for winning.
