Leafs are tied for last place in the Atlantic with the exact same record and goal differential as the Florida Panthers. They're going to need Woll to start playing again.

The injury to Tanev could potentially wrack the Leafs’ chances to be a contender both short and long term. Even with him the Leafs haven’t looked good.

Looks like the two concussions within a couple of weeks will keep him out indefinitely and being 35 he may find it extremely difficult to recover from this injury. He’s been the most reliable d man and almost impossible to replace in the foreseeable future, without him the Leafs may not even make the playoffs unless Stolarz (or Woll when he’s ready) can play like a Vezina trophy contender.

If Leafs meet Florida again in the playoffs it's a guarantee Bennett will target Tanev with an accidental on purpose head shot. He has taken out Knies, Marchand, Stolarz all with head injuries and all no penalties.

Leafs are 6th League wide in goals per game this season. Vegas is 7th.
Last season Leafs were 7th and Vegas was 5th.
So Leafs have actually jumped Vegas in offense.

What's different this season is they aren't getting the elite goaltending they had last season with Stolarz subpar and Woll missing. Primeau has a .838% save percentage and 4.30 GAA. He'll be waived and go unclaimed once Woll is back. Tanev out long term is going to hurt big time.

The Leafs are hard to watch. No speed, no sustained offensive pressure. No puck possession. No heart.

I heard Berube screaming in the Leafs locker room from my dt condo. The Leafs tie it 3-3 in the 3rd.

Until they loaded up with Matthews, Nylander, Knies, Rielly, and OEL.
Give Pittsburgh credit. First 2 periods they played with tremendous team cohesion.
Leafs had no time and space and Pitt was passing it around like Globe Trotters.
Then 3rd period Pitt looked nothing like the first 2 periods.

It took Berube to stack the top lines. The new plugs did nothing.

McMann did score the winner on a Robertson assist.
Maccelli was scratched so certainly that plug did nothing.
Joshua supposedly is built for playoff hockey we'll see.
Roy has played better lately.
Leafs have won 4 of their last 5 games.

Leafs are averaging 3.62 goals per game.
They scored 4 goals. That's above their average.
Pitt is 2nd in the Metro this season with a +9 goal differential.
That's best in the East. It wasn't like Leafs were playing a crap team of previous seasons.

Current leader this season in points per game (10 games played or more) is Willy Nylander !!!
1.8 pts per game

Knies 16 pts in 13 games.
Marner 14 pts in 12 games.

The Leafs are 3-0 in November. They beat a team they normally struggle against, the Arizona Mammoths.

From a salary standpoint Leafs current 2nd line of Tavares, McMann, Robertson is cheaper than both the 3rd and 4th lines. Toronto is now 2nd overall in goals per game. They're an offensive juggernaut this season

Up next Boston. Winners of their last 5 games. That's the current longest winning streak. They're resurrected.
Hildebeast will play tomorrow. Primeau waived good bye.
