If I recall correctly they predicted a long cold winter last year, which it most definitely was NOT.

On a lot of Trees I've seen a lot of berries on them which means it is going to be a harsh winter.

Reason for this is the Trees Produce more berries so certain animals can stock up on more to last them for the winter so they don't have to go out into the cold and snow to get food. Its one of the cool things about nature.
