226 Speedvale enhancements?

Stopped by 226 Speedvale in Guelph the other day and encountered some siginificant security enhancements. There is now a 'receptionist' who will only let one person in at a time through the glass door and escorts you back to the massage rooms. Once there, you get a couple disclaimers from the MP attendant about how the experience may be less than before because they may be visited by bylaw officers. Service was fine as far as it went - once we were comfortable with each other, the experience was on par with previous visits. It was a bit off-putting and I nearly backed out.

Question: is this becoming typical in Guelph or was it just a case of the jitters prior to the hiolidays? Or is this as the attendant said, the lE just have to meet their quota of visits before the year is out? Is this happening at other Guelph MPs?

336 and 400 Speedvale have been closed (last time I checked) for almost two weeks now. One posted it's closed for renovations, the other posted that it's closed for vacation until Jan 1st or 3rd. So maybe LE is a factor.

And yes, the 'receptionist' at 226 made me think twice as I thought it was a very strange site to see. So it was off to Kitchener for my massage as I my preference is Asian anyways.

Has to do with a new councillor in Guelph who won their election a few months back.
I think the name is Margaret Laidlaw, ward 3
I think she's really pushing LE in this matter.
And she vowed to cancel all new and existing MP licences.

Because of all problems we face and she should be tackling, MPs are obviously the most pressing. Lord, I do hate politicians, especially the moral crusaders. I should run for councilor next year .. my agenda will be:

1. Getting more bang (no pun intended) for your tax bucks
2. Bringing KW into the 21st Century in terms of laws that reflect our societies needs
3. Repealing the no-idle law because, let's face it, idling my car for 10 minutes in the morning when it's -10C isn't going to cause the ice caps to melt, the ozone layer to disintegrate and turn baby seals into zombie killers.
4. Make the police focus on stuff like burglaries and assaults instead of nailing drivers for going 5 km/h over the limit.

Vote me!

.

Agreed.
In Guelph the cops should really focus on the growing drug problem.
I think in the last 10 years drug use by teens in Guelph has gone up something like 500%.
Drug crime is also increasing. Home invasions and petty burglaries are also on the rise exponentially.
But no we have to close all rub & tugs because theat's the real problem in Guelph.

Say it ain't so! What a drag. I'm up north and was so looking forward to a vist at 400 Speedvale, it has been so nice and reliable over the last few years. OK the quality has gone down of late but still you don't realise how good you have it till you are stuck somewhere without any reliable MP's or SP's.

SO under what pretenses is the crackdown happening? They are both in out of the way locations, surely there could not have been comlaints.
