A mission like this would likely never be undertaken today. The number of unknowns, things that could go wrong, cost over runs etc. etc.... Would be stuck in government red tape for ever.

Truly amazing achievement for all of mankind. I truly believe that the space program is the one thing that the Americans do that elevates America above the rest.
Congratulations go out not just to the astronauts, but to the engineers and scientists who made the dream the reality, to the guys behind the scene in government who made it happen, to the men and women who worked at the cape. Often times the Astronauts get all the glory as they are the face of the program, the fact is there were tens of thousands of men and women who made the dream come true.
