FACT No. 49.
Yes, an amazing one-state liberal democracy where Palestinian boys & girls could fuck Israeli boys & girls & make cute babies, & everybody spoke Hebrew & Arabic & we all agreed that hummus and falafel are delicious and Palestinian and sufganiyot are delicious and Israeli would be awesome.
But this wonderful future has about as much chance of happening in the near term as this 5'8" 53-year-old Palestinian has being a starter for the Golden State Warriors. A two-state solution is the only workable one.

Isn't this what I've been calling for?

I don't know. 🤷‍♂️

This authour had the intellect to break it down into nice little easily digestible, palatable tidbits of wisdom.

You spew regurgitated bile-laced vomit and demand we eat all the bowls of chunky Chili you put in front of us!

Even when someone agrees with you and tries to find some common ground to move forward on...you can't leave well enough alone.

You feel the need to make everything worse and create conflict no matter what.

It is attitudes like yours that will prolong, if not promote, continued conflict in discussions.

Heck, I like a lot of what you say but I'm even getting sick and intolerant of your rude belligerence over your maniacal obsession over this Palestinian/Israeli conflict.

TBH, one of the reasons I avoided re-writing the response to your otherwise lucid explanation in this or some other thread that I agreed with, was knowing you were going to somehow tee off on some, any, sentence, word or vowel and create another conflict that I'd either have to ignore or respond to.

How do you think you'd be viewed in person if you were invited to an event like I was the other night. It was a relatively small art exhibition by a friend of mine. While there were occasional side-chats about some other things, the purpose of the gathering was to discuss somebody's work, how they are enjoying it and what they may have intended to say with it. Based on my observations of your posts on many unrelated subjects, your rabid obsession, I'd imagine you'd inevitably find ways to bring colonial oppression, Zionism, Palestine and how the artist should have created a particular abstract i a little differently.

You seem like a well intentioned, intelligent guy but fuck me pal, your behaviour is becoming more and more boorish with each passing day.

What does being Boorish mean?

boorish implies rudeness of manner due to insensitiveness to others' feelings and unwillingness to be agreeable. a

The central idea of this post looks like its an attempt by basketcase to moderate his long held positions on this board. If it were an honest discussion and a dialog interested with finding solutions that would be awesome. The list contains some great points and some tropes and veiled racism but even so, if basketcase actually agreed with those points his posts here would be quite different.

Fact 37 tries to argue that Palestinians aren't indigenous to Palestine. Fact 42 tries to argue that ending the occupation of Palestine is the responsibility of Palestinians, not the choice of the occupatiers to end the occupation. Those are the ingrained beliefs that are more 'veiled' attacks on Palestinian rights.

But really, the bigger points would be if basketcase really believed in 42 and 43 he would have stated that the entire military operation can never succeed and should have been stopped from day 1. Instead he, like others here, argue that the attacks on Gaza are justified and that killing everyone they label Hamas will lead to peace or at least subservience.

If the posting of this list of 'facts' was honest, it would have included discussion of these points. You can't claim to believe you can't bomb people to peace while you keep defending trying to bomb people into peace.

My reply was short yesterday, didn't have time. I already spend way too much time here and detailed answers take too much more.
If this was an honest discussion, you'd be willing to contrast my and basketcase's position.

All I continue to call for is a ceasefire, the application of the law through ICC and ICJ investigations into both sides, the end of the occupation and apartheid and equal rights for Palestinians. That, on this board, is considered an extremist view.

Why don't you and the other basketcase get a fucking room then?

And if he is attempting to moderate his long held positions... isn't that something good? I respect people who evolve.

If you were willing to have an "honest discussion" you'd not bring up what somebody said in the past. It's like a wife who inevitably brings every discussion back to some grievance or conflict from years ago. Or the Trumptard uncle who everyone HATES attending family gatherings. Even fellow Trumptards.

Proof of your boorish behaviour is that you have YET to ever once (to my recollection) admitted that, or apologized for you barging in with your Palestine/Israel obsessed keyboard into some unrelated discussion people are trying to have. Even your response to my thread calling you out for your rude, boorish behaviour turns into another obsessive psychotic rant about military operation, applications of IICC/ICJ/apartheid etc.

Have you no self-awareness, never mind any sense of manners?

Do you even know what being Boorish mean?

Boorish implies rudeness of manner due to insensitiveness to others' feelings and unwillingness to be agreeable

What about being rude?

rude implies ignorance of or indifference to good form;

Schong, you don't think your first sentence was a bit rude?
My initial reply on this thread was a short comment on two of the 'facts' presented, no personal attacks, no insults, just opinion.

Again, if this was an attempt to moderate long held positions it would be great. Maybe I could have started with a comment to that effect and I likely would have if I thought it was an honest post, sadly I have no reason to think it would be.

Do you really think its not a bit boorish to say calls for respect for the law and human rights is 'another obsessive psychotic rant?

How do you think you deescalate or end this situation?
If you agree with basketcase's 'facts', can you keep supporting the attacks and honestly say you believe 'facts' 43 and 44?

Can you discuss the issues instead of just calling me rude and boorish?

If you think this post from basketcase was honest, ask him how he reconciles backing these 'facts' with #43 and #44, which state that you can't bomb your way to peace.

So I'm not as eloquent as this author. Fair enough. Do you agree with his statement?

FACT No. 39. Maybe we keep the dogs outside.

Can we keep all foreign conflicts outside Canada? That includes Israel.
You took a snippet out of an entire statement and either did not comprehend the entire statement or you deliberately, dishonestly misrepresented it

The moral of fact, number 39 is that there’s a big problem there. No sense arguing how it came about. It just needs to be cleaned up and I think the dog shit refers to the extremist beliefs and leaders. On both sides.

FACT No. 39.

I grew up in a time where Indians and Pakistanis were considered “ dogshit” by MOST Canadians. The biggest complaint was their insistence on bringing their customs and religious fights to Canada. There was such hatred towards them that they were getting pushed off subway platforms.

My father was an immigrant, but happened to be white. However, he facscrimination here. One thing, though, he didn’t bring a fight from the old country.

That being said, if you want to keep the dog shit or foreign conflictsout of Canada consider that you, as an Indian man (?) would not have the privilege of being here with all the India/Pakistan et al conflicts “ you people” fight on our soil.

Look up the mass courtroom murder by Kuldip Singh Samra in 1982 over him, not accepting the courts decisions on Sikh Elections here in Toronto. .357 Magnum. 1982

“The killing of two men and disabling of a third in a Toronto courtroom 11 years ago was “a blunder,” the man who fired the shots told a jury.

Kuldip Singh Samra, 47, had called the shootings on March 18, 1982, “an unfortunate incident” or “a mistake” since his trial on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder began Oct.’s. Crown counsel Uriel Priwes asked Samra to explain the shootings.

“You killed Fonseca, you killed Pannu, and you crippled Tatla for life. In what way is it a mistake?” Priwas asked in cross-examination.

“It was a blunder,” Samra said, “It should not have happened. It was a terrible, desperate mistake, I do not have words to express, and it was a horrible thing.”

He said he lost his patience and shot up the Osgode Hall courtroom after a judge ruled against his motion to stop the elections at the Shiromani Sikh Society Temple on Pape Ave.

So I'm not as eloquent as this author. Fair enough. Do you agree with his statement?

FACT No. 39. Maybe we keep the dogs outside.

Can we keep all foreign conflicts outside Canada? That includes Israel.
OK, let’s start with no more Indian truck, drivers organizing blockades of our public roads and highways to protest some farming policy in India.

Having said that, I recognize you as a moderate man likes Canada to be without conflict. But as you can see, there’s enough people that have grievances they bring here. It’s something we accept as part of being a free and open society.

FACT No. 39.
Stop with the fucking history lessons about what the Israelites did, or what the Ottomans did, or what the British did, or whatever. IT IS FUCKING IMMATERIAL. There is a pile of dog shit in the living room. Instead of arguing about whose dog took the bigger shit in the living room, maybe focus on how we clean up the dog shit, and maybe we keep the dogs outside.”

Its time for a news break.
What these discussions, and really your understanding, misses is what is actually happening in Gaza right now.
Today Israel is attacking Rafah, home to 1 million refugees mostly living in tents.
Reports are that you can feel the ground shaking 50 km away.

Please provide the sources that are reporting all of these headlines. I see the 1st one is from I'll Jizz On Ya and it has been proven that there has been no carpet bombing.

All of these headlines are as honest as trump on his own website.
