8300 HD PVR question

I got from Rogers this PVR and I am trying to get it control the volume on my tv, I have looked through the code book that is provided and there are like 5 different sets of codes for my tv a Sony, I have managed to get it to power on and off from the PVR remote but no volume control, can anyone help please?

I have the same problem. I did get it to work, only once. I gave up and just use the TV remote for volume. Aside from that, love the PVR.

Get a Harmony remote.

ok had no choice but to go through the codes one by one and finally found the exact one that worked

Lucky you. The code for my ViewSonic LCD doesn't work and the website has the same codes so I have to use the controler that came with the View Sonic.

You are able to scroll through ALL IR codes.. follow the instructions that came with it, as all codes are NOT published. It is not necessary to manually input each code to check if it works.
