9/11

The Anniversary, when the USA got thier asses handed to them on a plate.
You know I was wondering when someone was going to remember 9/11 on TERB today.

Usually there is a thread up at midnight, but I guess alot of time has past and it si just not "new" worthy anymore.

However - your comment, in my opinion, is completely uncalled for.

i do think its sad that all those innocent people died, and i think they shoulda attacked US army bases and military places not public ones. but the states in my opinion brought this on themselves, they are always sticking thier noses in other peoples business, and always flexing thier muscles, this in my opinion brought them back to reality that they arent all that. and yes i dont beleive that we as Canadians should be there fighting, i do stand behind them because they are just doing thier duty.

they are always sticking thier noses in other peoples business,

Your attitude reminds me of the American feminist Barbara Kates. She basically said that American feminists couldn't give a shit about women's rights (or lack thereof) in Afghanistan or anywhere else outside the U.S. For example, they are much more concerned about an American golf club that doesn't admit women members than daughters being buried alive in Pakistan. Or, that women are being imprisoned in Iran for simply protesting a rigged election.

We are used to it....

That's just rude. How would you feel if one of your loved ones was in that building?
I am an American and I was in a parking lot in Canada and I heard two Canadians laughing about September 11th and how it should be a holiday because it killed so many Americans.

I don't believe most Canadians feel this way and there are many Canadians that I am proud to call my friend.

My condolences to the family and friends of the 24 Canadians killed that day in New York.

I have relatives in New York, Boston and Washington DC, so that day affected me greatly. I look back now and I remember wanting blood. I was very upset.
I have been to Ground Zero in NYC twice since that terrible day. I hope to be in New York on September 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary.

Actually, most feminists feel like that.

It shames me personally that anyone (anywhere) would make light of the death of innocent people - whether it happens in New York, Afghanistan, Israel or anywhere else. Every one around the world should be ashamed that we haven't managed to progress further in the years that have passed since the world wars. We should know better.

And no, I am not a radical pacifist of any sort. I just believe that senseless killing is just that - senseless. Sometimes you have to do what is necessary but terrorism is not.

You are correct. Most of us (Canadians) do not feel this way, most people that I know would be appalled at the remark you overheard. So please do not take that comment to heart as being the Canadian opinion of the Sept. 11 terrorist acts.
While I may not agree with the U.S.A.'s foreign affairs politics, the loss of innocent lives is deplorable and not something to be made light of.

R.I.P. all those who lost their lives Sept. 11, 2001

I feel horrified for anyone who had to die under such circumstances.American civilians are not to blame and should not be targeted.I'd prefer no attacks of any kind HOWEVER the U.S military industrial complex has stewed a very violatile pot worldwide for a long time.
