It sounds blasphemous but Apple users should get on their knees and thank both Google & particularly Samsung for forcing Apple to move off the stale regimented course dictated by Steve Jobs to an innovative personal smart phone experience. Larger screens & widgets are the biggest noticeable gains I found when I left Apple iPhone.

Let me first to welcome Apple users to the world of Android ! :clap2:

Really ??? Samsung had physical keyboards and touchscreens but the first virtual keyboards Apple stole from Europe .. besides old news OTB .... it's like suggesting the model T at the race track was better than the Ferrari that followed it.

As we mentioned (and proved in arguments, over & over e.i: NFC, larger screens, etc, etc, etc)

Look upon your future Apple iPhone 8 or 9:

We have had it for years and Apple is still trying to catch up. I'm happy for you .. well eventually ... when Apple has the widgets & personalized screen display shown above.

Typical bot, when he can't argue he tries to turn the tech forum into the investment forum.

He could prove us wrong by telling us what groundbreaking feature the iPhone 6 has.

Actually ... no he can't. He can only point to the size of the crowd of zombies who follows Apple.

The huge irony in the Apple and the religious zealots that follow it can be traced back to be a little story from 1984 ...

Picture a huge crowd of blank people ... sitting in chairs ... they are dressed the same ... their phones all with identical layouts ... OTB is in the front row ... his blank stare illuminated by the huge screen filled with Steve Jobs face....

A hot girl with an Android T-Shirt comes running in the room ... charging the screen with a hammer ... right into the Apple screen...

The screen explodes ... all the arguments and reasons for purchasing Apple now smashed to a finely powdered mist on the still blank stares .. the Apple myth is no more ... the technical prowess of Apple is dust in the reality of Android ..

So faced with nothing but the size of the group - OTB is now referring to the size of the group that he follows.

The irony is that the whole point of Apples ad was not to follow the crowd .. in the face of OTB's reasoning based numbers and profit .. Apples message (and campaign slogan) was - Think Different

64bit processor, finger print reader, blazing fast graphics performance, ultra thin and light and a functioning NFC payments system with actual users....

I'd agree that apple was the first to release a 64 bit phone but every manufacturer has had them in the pipeline for a while.

Claiming fast graphics and thin are bullshit. Every generation of phone is discussed that way and is the best - until the next one comes out. Did apple invent the idea of making phones more powerful?

And trying to claim NFC payments as an apple invention is the biggest joke of all.

You forgot finger print reader, how about secure element, metal game development tool, motion co-processor

So that means you are admitting that trying to build faster isn't an apple innovation.

Yes, putting a fingerprint scanner on a phone is a first. It might even be useful. The rest is not exactly innovation.

NFC is a technological innovation that has been shown to be extremely useful. Voice activation is an innovative feature. Neither are apple innovations. We'll see if fingerprint scanning ends up being something big.

And yes, you are making a joke of yourself again by claiming that apple innovated by allowing developers more access to coding.

Not to rain too heavily on OTB's fallen idol but the fingerprint technology was not developed by Apple - incapable of the kind of successful development - Apple purchased the existing technology from AuthenTec for $356 million.

However - I think Apple did have a first - they are the only ones that offered their smartphone (iPhone 5C) in a rainbow assortment of colours.

As is usual with your posts, this makes little sense.

In a thread kicked off talking about minimal software innovation (keyboards, predictive typing, widgets) you discount software development tools, processor architecture, security HW...

What a joke.

... you discount software development tools, ....
As usual you are missing the point. In case you haven't been paying attention, there is this other phone developer that has been promoting third party software development since its inception, even going so far as to make its coding open source. Apple's about a decade late to the party on that one.

I was so looking forward to your response but I have to say I'm disappointed. I was hoping for an explanation of how apple wa sinnovative by slightly doing what android has been doing since its inception but instead all you have is insults.
Then you didn't understand the article....
