we've been pretty anaethestised both musically and culturally in the past 40 years.. Bieberised i dare say. Just a reminder of what great music once sounded like,,,and a testament to the fact that not much has happened since, that would cause me to want to crank up the volume and put the pedal to the floor... Dial in around 3:30, light up, and fasten your seatbelts

While I understand your point of view and agree with it partially, I'll say we shouldn't feel anesthetized. There's lots of good contemporary music out there, be that hard rock, folk, pop, etc.

You have to keep your eyes and ears wide open (in the full sense of the term). I listen a lot to CBC Radio 2 early in the morning and they broadcast a lot of good stuff with lots of Canadian content.

I frankly can't listen to Led Zeppelin anymore, I have had my fair share in the past and I moved on.

Actually Canada is coming out with some pretty good old school rock. Maybe not of the arena epic Zepp style, but pretty good. I like the Trews. The Arkells. Sam Roberts is pretty musical.
