So last week I was in Conestoga Mall in Waterloo shopping when I was stopped by the people from Scotia Bank. They were basically doing a survey electronically to get your info so they can send you junk mail (do not do this!!) via offering you a great rate for their credit cards. Anyways, after you're done with the computer survey, a printout goes a printer and someone calls your name to discuss the details of this credit card. I had said my occupation was "massage" and I work from home. Now the guy talking to me was older and East Indian - he writes "massage therapist" in the occupation box. I never bothered to correct him because I know I don't want this card. Trust me this is going somewhere!

He then looks me up and down, and says "do you do men or women?"
I said "I'm open to both."
He asks "how much do you charge?" *gave my rates* "and what days do you work?" I told him.
Like any of this is really necessary to the form we're filling out...

Was it so blatantly obvious of what I do? It's not like I was trying to drum up business, but what a neat way to get noticed!
Has this type of thing ever happened to any other ladies? And guys have you ever been so clever enough to ask a girl if she is an SP, just not directly?

Actually there is statistics on average salaries &, hourly pay for just about every job. The credit department may match that to how much you " claim" to make to see if it is reasonable the amount you " claim " as income. How many days a week you work + how broad your customer base is ( male , female only or both) is used in estimating your " potentioal" income & is compared to your " claim" of income. Here is a obvious example: if a self employed English tutor claimed 150k a year BUT the statistics in the credit department of the bank indicated Engish tutors make aproximately 40-65k then suspicion would occurr towards your " claim" & they may decide to reject your application. Remember the application often asks for other sources of income. SOOO if the 150k is claimed just from the teaching it would look odd.
