I might be predjudiced, but I blame straight porn, to a large extent. They just don't seem to absorb the concept of there being a huge difference.

If this is a personal thing, you'd be best off seeking play partners through one of the local Munches or support groups. They aren't fool proof, but your chances of encountering a Top who has a much better grasp of true BDSM play will be greatly enhanced.

one of the reasons bdsm porn is hard to find is that there are strange legal restrictions on what is considering violent regarding porn. For instance, it's illegal to have penetration and pain infliction in the same video. The line is muddy, however, as we've all seen porn that has the guy slapping the shit out of a girl while they're fucking, or even choking her. So there seems to be a fine line as to what can be shown or can't be shown.
