does anyone know if there is a reason I cant shell to basic in 3 of my computers, the only difference is that these 3 use amd processors, no one can give me a straight answer.

I have a program thats runs on Basic in my office and windows refuses to shell to basic on those 3 computers, we have tried everything but before i call my guy at dell for selling me lead does anyone know if this is the truth?

thanks.

What do you mean by Basic? You have a basic interpreter on your computer? If so, whats the vendor..Any other details? Did you install basic? thanks

Basic goes back to the original Apples.

Ran well on the early Intels.

depends on the version of basic. There were dozens of them. Basic was and a language that is vary widely used.

There was a version of basic that came with the msdos operating system, from 3.3 to 6.0 I think. If that is what you are trying to use with a modern windows xp or vista OS then you are probably out of luck. Versions of basic moved on to visual basic and then visual basic.net

I can't see it having anything to do with the processor though.

Is this MS-Basic that used to come with DOS? I thought they dropped that a long time ago.

I don't think it has anything to do with an AMD or Intel cpu's because the instruction set is identical. I think it has to do with your OS.

SO how did you get the Basic installed? Was it already there or did you have to install it? Is it a windows type basic or DOS based? It must have a screen that tells you what the vendor is..
