LMAO! Amen Brother!

...cosign on this.

A REAL steak, prepared well, does NOT need "sauce"....just a bit of salt and pepper at most.

A steak is supposed to taste like a steak...not "spices" or anything else...

I agree completely!!! A well prepared and seasoned steak doesn't need a sauce to mask the flavour.

...beat me to it.

I've come to understand that most people REALLY don't know what a steak is supposed to taste like....I've had 3 occasions this summer enlighten people who thought that the meat they were picking up from Loblaws and cooking on their grill in the backyard was a steak....I don't consider myself to be a skilled chef (I do ok, but...), but *I DO* know where to go to get a real steak...each time they were blown away...

Well, yeah, but as with many foods there is different ways to prepare it. Back when I ate red meat I cooked a mean steak myself and when hanging out at the cottage, people'd have a bite of mine and go..whoa...that's fricken awesome.....

But there's pepper steak, marinated, grilled, blackened (bachelor style lol), bacon wrapped, etc etc etc.

I used to throw on some L & P once in a while for variety. Just enough to change the flavor.

Ok, a follow-up question - What cut of steak is your fav?
Delmonico (Rib Eye) for me followed closely by New York Strip.

They have different textures so it depends on my mood as to which I prefer.

...is a Rib Eye, though Porterhouse is good to, as is NY Strip. Filet is good too...really, so long as it is a top choice cut of beef (USDA Prime) and well prepared, I like them all...it tends to depend on mood...

I like porterhouse too but it's hard to get that cut. Seems most buthchers go with a T Bone cut.
