A quick question about a purchase....

A friend of mine was shopping for a MTB from a local bike shop...due to low supply high demand, it has to be pre ordered. Long story short, he put down 25% down payment for the bike and special ordered...waited 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, he got a call that it's on the way but for an increased price because of a manufacturer price increase...is this even legal? What can he do at this point aside from paying for the increased price?

There has to be some type of sales invoice that has the price.

If he doesn’t have that, he is fucked.

His issue isn't about the refund, the store won't honor the agreed upon price. I think the store would refund his down payment.

I ask for money back, it's a scam on the store or the two sales guys store/mfg.

Something like this happened to me long time ago when I went to travel during the 2nd gulf war, Caribbean, travel agent kept calling back that the airline wanted more money, Something to do with the price of oil going up, me fool paid extra but had receipt, by the third time she called me, I said I want my money back/full refund and I am having consumer affairs involved on the travel agent / airline. She didn't want to give me my money back and I had to travel or loose it but then she claimed the airline called several times and she paid out of her own pocket. LIE.

The fuel surcharge is the biggest scam ever. It ALWAYS happens.
