let me run an idea by u okay?

say...

a guy has a good job etc etc - money, car

all the vital essentials

he's not bad looking either

not exactly brad pitt

but he does everything he can to keep her entertained

lavish her with good treatment, pampering, dinners

does that cause her to eventually overlook his "flaws"?

---

we're not talking about a huge horn on his face.

Something like maybe a scar..for example. Or a height gap.

---

Your opinions?

Seeing as looks are genetic a lot of ugly people have procreated so yes it's possible. :D

Seriously though....
I think confidence is the great equalizer when it comes to imperfections.

I would say so.

Let's see if she still stays with you when you lose your job and can't pamper her with lavish gifts.

overlook flaws? Never. Accept, often.

well overlook is a specific thing. I think women can accept flaws and in some case find flaws "not a big deal". In some cases the good in a relationship will permit a woman to accept enourmous flaws (like voting for Bush).

I would however say that there is a fine line between treating a woman you love like a princess and trying to buy affection. Most woman can smell the diference at 100 paces and will respond to one and feel contempt for the other.

A dangerous strategy.

What he said.

I really wonder about the guys who get into this line of thought. Someone recently said his "looks were a 5". OK! You got it made!
Oh, but maybe the '..bad luck with women" is due to:
hygiene- 4
Listening-2
Sense of humour- 4
empathy-1
Expectations of women-10

just wondering......

So, you're opposing Loki's statement?

I think it depends on what you want to attract and keep. If you want shallow and not so intelligent, then buying her things will work for a while until something better comes along. If you want someone well-rounded and with a good heart, then your actions alone will be appreciated. After all, actions speak louder than words.

Actually, Socrates was quite ugly. He even walked the catwalk once, for a beauty show in Greece, among alot of beautiful people to prove that "True Beauty Lies Within"

Even, tho the crowd mocked and booed him.

And I don't think he was gay. I think he was bisexual

No, that was a sexual deviant! :)

A Socratic question, BTW, is one that does not require an answer.

I thought Socratic questioning was ask the individual to elaborate in his answer enough to make him contradict himself (basically, give him enough rope to hang himself)(please comment)
Ooooops!

What was I smoking? :D

You are, of course, correct!
