Is there no way you can make business the reason? I don't have a wife, but I use business as an excuse for these type of things with friends. Either that, or go by the old addage......."It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission."

Oh well, I have to live on the edge, and dammit I'm going to make it to the party come hell or high water. Well, if the water's too high, I'll probably stay home, because I'm not that great of a swimmer. You know, when I was a kid, I used to take swimming lessons. I had to jump into the pool and I wouldn't unless the lifeguard caught me. She had big boobies.
