Booked a trip to Quebec City for my 2 kids and myself on Dec 31. Scheduled to leave at 7am and arrive at 10am (short stop to YUL). Flight got cancelled due to crew shortage.
Ended up getting to my home town at 8pm. Bummer for sure as I lost 10 hours with my family during the holiday.
Made a compensation claim on Jan 2. Received an email today that we are going to get $1000 each (interact $, not credit). Total cost for the 3 of us was $800.
While i still hate them (and all other airlines) i was please with the outcome. I am pretty sure the recent negative press and hearings about cancellations and lost of luggage had an impact of their decision.
Now I have $2200 to go through my TDL.
